I'm curious. Vampires will have red eyes because they feed on human blood, what color would they be of they were to consume "dead" blood (if for some reason, they wanted to drink menstruel blood) or blood that has been cooled for some time. Would they still be red? Or would they lean towards more of a maroon-brown color since its dead?

Ummm... I am trying to get past picturing this

I don't think the "cooled" would have any effect.

Nor would the "dead" blood. I think the color might be less vibrant, because the blood is not as strong... But I doubt it would have much of an effect.

It probably only takes like a couple of seconds, they are vampires of course. As you can probably tell I love the color of their eyes I mean who wouldn't want liquid topaz eyes, seriously I would love to have eyes like that but who wouldn't want to be a vampire? I guess Jacob/Sam/Quil/Embry/Seth/Collin/Brady/Leah/Paul/Jared lovers...

i think it would be cool if the wolves had some special eye color. like green or something. but thats just from the obsessive jacob fan.

I like the topaz idea for the eyes. (of course, every one of stephanie's ideas is brilliant.) but what if their eyes went from crimson red to ice blue? i don't know, that makes more sense to me. but then again if their eyes were blue, they wouldn't stand out much. i mean, who do you see everyday who has light brown/yellow eyes other than your cat?

Mmm. I think the topaz makes sense more than blue. Blue would be AWESOME, but topaz and red are on the same side of the color wheel. It makes sense that if a vampire feeds on animal blood, their eyes are basically a diluted red.

So if they drank fruit juice...

Or a cold blooded animal: reptile, etc?

yeah your right. idk i just thought the opposite thing but technically their still drinking blood its just from different species. but still i think the werewolves should get like electric green eyes or something that'd be so cool!

Haha that is so true.

and I love the fact that stephenie's vampires have different colors other than just red or a normal color like ive read in other vamp books. it makes stephenie's vampires more unique than they already were.
I also love it that they change! I mean its already awesome enough they have gold or red eyes but if theyre pissed or hungry the have black eyes!

When Bella sees his eyes Black, that's supposed to mean he's 'thirsty', right?
Well if he was so hungry for them to turn black, why didn't he just attack Bella there?
Maybe they were black because he was frustrated because he knew he couldn't [because he had to restrain from attacking her]?
Yes it means he is "thirsty". However, Edward loves Bella too much to allow himself to hurt her, let alone bite her,and he knows he must "drink" frequently to avoid this. But he is also afraid of any danger coming to her when he is going hunting, because of course he can't take her with him. I don't think it was because he was frustrated though. I hope you understand what I mean, but I think Edward explained it sumwhere in Twilgiht.
