haha heather, don't lose hope! your persistence paid off for those of us who are interested in this! It's worth it. I'd posted on so many forums looking for help in this and it always got ignored. It was very gratifying when you contacted me looking for some Twilight music loving solidarity! I promise my next reading of New Moon I will be listening to your playlist and this thread will be very active then.

AAhhhh!!!! So many responses!! I'm overwhelmed!! (more happy dances)

OK, let's do this is order of oldest to newest posts:

omg, thank god u reminded me, im so sorry! HAHA I checked it out yesterday and it's amazing! I haven't seen ur playlists until yesterday and I must say the Twilight one is awesome! One Headlight is a great song!
Again, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you anything!
I love the Wallflowers, too (as you can see by how frequently I used them!). To me they've got a great driving rhythm with some great soul and usually a good bass/drum line to boot! Thank you for posting! Let me know what you think!!
jettabugfox wrote:I finished my final (finally!!) and I will start on the playlist tomorrow. I promise I won't forget you!!! :D
Thank you!!!!! Again, your help and dedication on this project has been phenomenal. Remember you don't have to do it all at once either! You can just do a couple of songs/scenes at a time!
xXBeSafeXx wrote: and I don't really know your taste too well, but I think "Breathe" by Taylor Swift goes really well for the part where Bella's leaving from the confrontation with Jacob, the first time she saw him after he went to Sam...I especially like the "never a clean break, no one here to save me," part.
So, I thought it was really appropriate, but I don't know about your taste, or as far as music most of the characters might listen to, but it's not as poppy as most of Taylor Swift's songs are.
I like the lyrics on a stand-alone basis, but I'm sorry, the song is just too poppy for my taste. Having reviewed many other songs by Taylor, though, if I had to pick one by her to use, it would likely be this one.
There's a scene or two in Eclipse where it might fit where I'd be happy to list it as an alternate, but I just don't think it fits with what I have in mind for that scene in New Moon in particular.

Like I said earlier, you can do it just a song/scene or two at a time. You don't have to sit down with the whole playlist/whole book and do it all in one go... (That would take some stamina, baby!).

Oh, and Cymbrelynn? Tag, you're it!

By the way, did anyone have any instances so far where they thought a song didn't fit the scene or needed some explanation as to why I chose that particular song for that scene?

You're welcome. :D But your other comment confuses me. Reading a Twilight book...a couple of scenes...at a time?

Um, that doesn't...compute. ;)

Anyway, I had to leave school early today to pick up my daughter (who has a 101 temp), so I will be reading all afternoon. It's too cold to do anything else but snuggle on the couch with her and read while she's watching Wall-E.

I'm sorry, but that line reminds me of the scene in New Moon when Edward says he doesn't want her and Bella's reaction is:
"You...don't...want me?" I tried out the words, confused by the way they sounded, placed in that order.

OOoooo. Poor daughter. Hope she feels better soon!!

How are you able to listen to all the music while sitting on the couch? Do you have an iPhone/PDA/laptop with Internet access to the playlist.com playlist? Please, oh, please don't tell me you actually went on iTunes and BOUGHT ALL those songs so they'd be on your iPod? :o

After all the hard work I went through to make them available for free?

In general, there's several out there that are quite good. There's a thread on Quench Your Thirst that I think is called "My Eclipse Playlist" that has recommendations by other people.

As far as asking my opinion within the confines of THIS thread, I haven't compiled my offical Eclipse book playlist/soundtrack yet. Stay tuned, though. I'll probably have Eclipse and Breaking Dawn complete long before Valentine's Day at the pace I've been going... :D

Check back on this thread in a couple weeks.

Have you had a chance to peruse the rest of this thread to see what exactly this thread is about and how this is not just a normal playlist that's being worked on? Please see my initial post on page 1 of this thread (the one with "What's the Big Idea?" at the top of the post).

If you want to know what I have down in my notes for Eclipse so far, PM me and I'll give you a general idea.

I absolutely adore the idea of having a playlist for each book. I'm new to the Twilight universe since I've only completed the 1st two books so far, and it really helps a lot. I found Stephenie Meyer's playlists on her website and noticed that for New Moon she went so far as to identify which character's perspective the song relates to. She didn't do that for her Twilight playlist. Does nayone know which song matches up with who? I didn't know where else to post this so I hope I'm not in the wrong place! TIA

No one REALLY knows (we're not psychic, like Edward). I think there may have been some discussion about who's view the song is from for Stephenie's Twilight list on the thread called "Stephenie's playlists" or something like that. It's also under "Quench Your Thirst".

I have my own opinions on the subject, but that would be getting off-topic for THIS thread. If you really want MY opinion, PM me or post on that thread and I'll reply.
