Nope, no Alistaris or Hermione's here in Amarica as far as I know. There are no Hamish's either (except my cat)!

Re: Pronounciation Key
If there are guys called Alistair in America, they're either British themselves or have an English background.
I knew how to say Siobhan because that's my best friend's name. =] And I tend to break up Rosalie's name into three syllables instead of the actual two, so I say Ros-a-lee instead of Rosa-lee.

Re: Pronounciation Key
Kachiri, To me looks asian, almost a bit japanese to me so i said in there way of pronounciations.AnaBanana wrote:I did horrible with almost all the pronounciation for the foreign vamps. Like how do you say Kachiri (Cash-eh-ree?) or Sulpicia (Suhl-pee-see-a?) or Alistair (Al-eh-stair?)? Not to mention I completely butchered Siobhan. I was saying "Sib-oh-hand." Most of my friends just kind of ignored me when we talked about BD, beacause the had no clue what I meant...
My best friend's dad says I can't pronounce any of it because I talk like I'm from South Carolina even though I was PA born and raised. I told him that my cousin lives in South Carolina and she talks better than I could ever hope to...
Kah-Chi-Ree
Was same with Caius.... cause when i see Cai, i think of Hai<japanese for yes> which is said Hi so always said it right
Since A's Make a Ah/o, like Van would be Von,
E sound like A like Kagome- would be Kah-go-may
I's sound E's, Chi- Chee, Hi-He, Sushi-Su-she. ii would be a long sounding e
O- sounds like OO, like in boo,
U is like tricky hard to explain sometime u sounding, sometimes Oh i belive.
And T's are silent most of the time Tsubasa-Soo-bah-sa
I always said Carlisle, Car-is-il ,
Queleute, or however you spell it, was like Quill-e-yet
i said Alistair, al-is-ster. from harry potter Alistair Moody lol.
His fingers were ice-cold, like he’d been holding them in a snowdrift before class. But that wasn’t why I jerked my hand away so quickly. When he touched me, it stung my hand as if an electric current had passed through us.

YEP. It's Emma. <3
Re: Pronounciation Key
lol. I didn't have too many problems, except for Siobhan and Renesmee. But my friend's pronounciation key goes like
Rosalie=Rose-ah-ull
Carlisle=Car-lies-ull
Esme=Ez-um
Renesmee=Reh-nayz-me
Quileute=Kill-ay-oot-ay
and she had no clue for Sioban and some of the other complicated names. It's kind of funny and annoying to here her talk about Twilight characters.

I'm just going to waste time wandering through town until something Twilight-related comes by.

Re: Pronounciation Key
pronounciation question! ok so i say volturi like: vol-ter-ee
but my sister says it like how you would say voltur(like the bird), just with the "ee" sound at the end. so how do you pronounce it, or do you know how its supposed to be pronounced?

Re: Pronounciation Key
Stephenie pronounces a lot of things in interviews and discussions. Hovever, she'd be the bottom line for the person to pronounce these things, except a person that has the name or knows people with the name or live locally
If your friend said it like the bird, it would be vol-tcchurr-ee
that would be weird.

Re: Pronounciation Key
I only started saying the names right when I travelled to Forks, Washington. I went there when Breaking Dawn was released and there were crowds full of Twilight Moms. There were enough people there to correct me.
