Here is a partial pronunciation key. This is the place to discuss any pronunciation questions. Nahuel anyone???

Carlisle = CAR - lyle
Quileute = QUIL - yute (I asked the Quileute woman working in the Quileute Welcome Center)
Esme = EZ - may/mee (right in the middle of the two sounds)
Rosalie=Rose-ah-lee
Meyer = MY - er
Laurent = Lor-ahnt
Aro: ah-roh
Caius = keye-us (eye as in the word eye)
Palazzo dei Priori = pah-lah-tsoh day pree-oh-ree
La Tua Cantante = lah too-ah cahn-tahn-tay

I say it as nah-Hue-ell, but maybe that's just me.
How do you pronounce Uley? Is it Oo-lee or You-lee or something else?

I say You-lee for Uley.

And I say Nah-HUE-el for Nahuel. When in doubt, I go with the obvious.

However, I hope I'm not the only person this totally clueless out there. Siobahn is pronounced Sha-Vaun. Pel had a good laugh at me over this one, so please speak up if you didn't know that was how it was pronounced!

Haha, you're definitely not the only one.

I kept pronouncing it See-oh-bon. Talk about embarrassing. It's such a misleading name!

I never had a problem with Renesmee (Re-Nez-May)
until my friend, and I'm not naming names but you know who you are, ruined it for me when she called her
Resume

Thanks a lot

Oddly enough, I only knew how to pronounce Siobahn because of the film "Speak" (starring Kristen, of course).

Ha ha! :lol: That just makes me laugh because I know who you're talking about!

The only name that I had a problem pronouncing was Aro. I always pronounce it like an arrow, but then I have to remember that it's Italian, so the "a" would be pronounced like the "a" in father. :roll:

The only reason I knew who to pronounce Siobhan's name was because I just got done reading a book with a name similar to it that had a pronunciation guide. Otherwise, I would have said is see-oh-ban. :lol:

Isn't that how you pronounce an arrow anyway, with the sound like in father? (Or is this just my British accent?)
