I'm betting that the stock market thing works just like the casino scene. they can't always invest in the right things. i'm sure they have like 100 different portfolios with different names though, just in case.

I absolutely loved the J scenes. I would love it if SM would write the original Jenks-Jasper scene and put it with the BD extras! :D

Someone just wondered how much money the Cullens really do have. It could very well be in the trillions. With Carlisle being a Doctor for the past 9 decades or so, making upwards of 80,000 or so a year, and with the stocks/investments, etc..... nevermind the fact the Cullens don't need to spend any money on food. (Maybe that's why they can drive such gas-guzzling vehicles? :} ) But seriously a family of their size would probably have to spend several thousand a year on food alone... LOL.....

I thought it was so funny how that guy was scared of Jasper. I was laughing a lot about how that guy (I don't feel like looking up his name....lol) flinched when he said Jaspers name.

Haha. I bet Emmet has a hidden stash of speeding tickets in his bedroom.

I just thought of something though. What if they somehow got caught for something and ended up in jail...wouldn't the authorities notice they never aged and didn't eat? Would they go insane and eat anyone imprisoned with them? Then what?

I guess it's just easier for everyone if they never get caught...

Yes. That's why they lose sometimes. There's an outtake from TW about this. Not the stock market, per se, but about winning/losing money. On their way home, they stop in Vegas and gamble. Bella and Edward play Black Jack and lose money. Alice wins at roulette for a while to "make them sweat" then loses everything.
I don't remember where I read that. I think it might have been on SM's personal correspondence.

I've noticed they have fun stealing cars!!!!
A little off topic, but what was the POINT of J. Jenks? I'm sorry, but I found it wasted 30+ pages. To quote Linkin Park, "In the end, it doesn't even matter..."

Really, now?

Haha. Cullen car stealing. I love how it's okay to do things that are illegal (bribing, stealing, killing mountain lions) if you're gorgeous and rich. Rich and gorgeous. That's what makes the world go round.

I think the point was to show that Alice thought there was a chance they weren't going to survive... to dramatize the situation, if Alice thought they weren't going to make it- it must be really bad. This way we're not expecting the happy ending we actually got :)

I found it entertaining how the Cullen's got away with so much.

Alice's carjacking is totally priceless & how she convinced guard to let them through. What you can't do if you have money.

I thought the whole J. Jenks part was quite funny. With the names that Bella chose for Jacob & Nessie for the id's & passports.

Yet the Cullen's broke many laws, it seemed that their illegal activities were done to help out someone in their family & in any other situation they wouldn't resort to illegal means.

I believe that Carlisle wouldn't allow anyone in the family to do anything illegal for one's own personal gain or enjoyment.
