stephenie vs. bella

Post by alrite »

did stephenie write bella's character to look like her? 'cause the descriptions kind of match how she looks like...

I will always love the song "Dark Blue" by Jack's Mannequin. Jack's Mannequin was one of the first bands I ever saw live, and I think that that song especially is strong for Edward and Bella's relationship!

I cried the last time I listened to "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab For Cutie, too. It's such an Edward and Bella song! I actually think it pertains to all of the couples in Twilight, it's such a sweet song by itself but pair it up with Twilight and it's sick. <3
I had an adrenaline rush, it's very common...you can google it.

This is more of a general playlist comment, but I've never understood how Muse's "Unintended" hasn't shown up, especially for Twilight or Midnight Sun. I think that it describes pretty well how Edward must have felt as he realized he was falling in love with Bella, and terrified all the while that he was going to end up killing, transforming, or hurting her. Anyways, this is the Edward song in my head.

You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You could be the one I'll always love
You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions
You could be the one I'll always love

I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

First there was the one who challenged
All my dreams and all my balance
She could never be as good as you

You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You should be the one I'll always love

I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

Before you

In one part of Jacob's section:

'Hounds of love' - FUTUREHEADS!!

That just went perfectly: LYRICS:
'the hounds of love are calling...i've always been a coward(?)...and i don't know what's good for me'
WOW.

Also some Death cab for cute: i'll follow you into the dark.
And some Peter, bjorn and john: young folk.
For all the other bits :)

Sometimes certain books just link in to the perfect song. Not always, but sometimes :)

It is so funny because I listen to songs now and seems to pick up little pieces of lyrics and find some way to relate it to the Twilight universe.
I do the same thing. I can't help it now anymore. Everything relates to Twilight somehow, haha. Guess that's what happens when someone becomes obsessed.
I definitely know what you mean...

Soul Meets Body - Death Cab For Cutie
Soul Meets Body works well for New Moon (from Edward's POV).
...But if the silence takes you - then I hope it takes me too
so, brown eyes, I hold you near - cause you’re the only song I want to hear
a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere - where soul meets body...

Luv - Travis
Per SM's suggestion, this song works well for chapter 27 of Eclipse (after Bella tells Jake "some things that were hard").
When the mistake we made - was in never having planned to fall in love...
...But in doing so - In letting you go - It only serves to show me that I'm still in love with you

The Well and the Lighthouse - Arcade Fire
SM had this listed on her Eclipse playlist on her own website but I think it works really well for the end of Breaking Dawn.
If I seem lost - well I weighed the cost - and chose my crime - now it's mine all mine!...
...The lions and the lambs ain't sleeping yet
Here's to stolen bottlecaps, drug metaphors, and velvety soundwaves . . .

There are two songs that I always think of while reading BD - Kate Bush This Woman's Work for the birth and Bella's transformation, and Amy Winehouse Some Unholy War for the showdown with the Volturri. Even if you aren't a big Amy Winehouse fan, the lyrics are pretty good for the story (I know everyone says that about the songs they have in their playlists, that's why the songs are there - I'm just sayin'). ;)

This is my Breaking Dawn playlist :)

"Invincible"-Muse(team cullen)[played in my head in all of part 3]
"Lucky"-Biff Naked (B & E)
"Feeling Good"-Muse(B)
"Supermassive Black Hole''-Muse(B & E)
"Be yourself"-Audiosalve(Pre-wedding scenes, mainly ch.1)
"Look After You"-The Fray(B & E)
"Hallelujah"-Jeff Buckley(When Renesmee's born)
"You and Me"-Lifehouse(Bella and Edward's wedding/wedding dance song)
"End of the world"-Armor for sleep(Volturi attack)
"She Will Be Loved"-Maroon 5(E)
"Breathe No More"-Evanescence(Edward watching Bella die, and Bella struggling to survive in pt. 2)
"Lithium"- Evanescence(a backround song for pt.2)
"This is for Keeps"-the Spill Canvas(E & B)
"My Heart"-Paramore(R)[Renesmee to everyone she loves]
"Hallelujah"-Paramore(For the end of Breaking Dawn)[for me, there's like, 10 different songs that work for that, it had a great ending to me]
"Love remains the same"-Gavin Rossdale(B & E) [But it works for A&J, R&Em, Es&C, and a little bit of Rn&J. Basically the end of the book]
"Let Me Sign"- Rob Pattinson (E)[Edward's POV when he delivers Renesmee]
"Scars"- Papa Roach(J)[Beginning of pt 2]

I on this board I've been posting songs that I found work for Breaking Dawn, but they aren't on SM playlist. But as an honerable mention, I've got to say "I will follow you into the dark" by Death Cab for Cutie works for BD so much that it has almost made me cry!

Well, during Bella's Transformation I always here Within Temptation's "What Have You Done Now". I kind of imagine it as a battle in Edwards mind; between his selfish psyche of wanting Bella forever and his realistic psyche that knows she's crazy for even asking for immortality.

It's kind of loud and raging, which is always how I imagined Edward dealing with it internally. Watching Bella for the three days, I imagine these are his thoughts.
