Kauri... interesting name! It's the Maori name for a type of tree down here.

Correct. But it's a tree from New Zeland, not from Brazil. It's the same for Zafrina... we don't have names like that here. Native Brazilian names sounds like Iracema, Taina, Janaina. Kauri was quite surprising. Gustavo, on the other hand, is a very common boy's name.

Janaina would have been a lovely name...

Gustavo and Kauri were very interesting...I think SM could have done more with Gustavo, but I thought Kauri was very brave yelling at Edward even though she knew what he was. Did anyone else think that maybe Kauri was a vampire?
