But for now, I love her.
If she winds up being a Bella 2.0 I definitly wouldn't like Renesmee. But I'm hoping that since she'll be around several strong women that she'll be able to find her own personality and strength.

I think that thats part of why I'm not Nessie's biggest fan right now: I"m worried that she'll turn out like her mom. Ahhhh, an epiphany is on the horizon! I can feel it!

was anyone a little disapointed with the lack of edward/renesmee time there was in the book? there doesnt seem to be alot of interaction between them. I know theres a mother/daughter bond, i get it, but it would be nice to see edward have someheart to hearts too. concidering how remorsefull and cautious edward is as a character, i would have thought there would be scenes to make up or apologise for the initial hatred he showed for her. also, edward feeling pushed out by jacob? would of been nice to explore that too. DILFS usually send my womb into overdrive anyway, and theres only so many pages in that stack of a book.

and in agreement, if renesmee turns out like bella, ooooooh no. or rosalie for that matter. alice would be the best role model for her by farrrr

I think the reason that we didn't see much Renesmee/Edward time was because he was running around like a madman trying to rally as many vampires as he could to protect her from the Volturi.

I would despise Nessie if she turned out like Bella. Rose, I might be ok with. I like Rose better than Bella. I personally would love it if Nessie became an Alice/Leah hybrid personality wise. They're my personal favorite female charactors in the books.

I agree that there was very little time with Edward and Nessie in the books, but Renesmee101 is right, Edward was very busy. SM cuts out a lot in the third book, much to my discontent....

I don't think Edward feels pushed out by Jacob. I think Edward has accepted Jacob's part of the family. I also think that now that Edward and Bella have more time to spend with Nessie as a family, it will be time for Jacob and Rosalie to step out a little bit, and I think that Jacob will do that.

^^ I agree that Edward starts to accept Jacob as part of the family but I'm not sure he fully accepts it til the goodbye scene. Although he can read Jake's mind & knows exactly what he's thinking. So Edward can't hate on Jake TOO much for caring for his daughter.

I think the chances Nessie's going to be Bella, Redux are slim. But I do think she's going to have several of Bella's characteristics. I wonder... what characteristics of Bella's would you most like Nessie to have? What would you least like?

I actually would like her not to have very much of Bella at all in her. If there was anything, I would love her to have the type of independence Bella had up until meeting Edward.

I want Renesmee to take Bella's strengths and add to them. Bella has a lot of potential. She could be caring, selfless, responsible, mature, independent.

I want Renesmee to know that she can survive without a man. I want her to skip the self-pitying we see in Bella.

yeah i get that, i dont think she should start wallowing like bella. i really dont want her to inherit the need to be left out of the limelight. i mean, i dont ant her to be an attention hound if you know what i mean, but be confident to pick up on social queues when nessacary. it always irritated me how bella reacted when people went out of their way to do something nice for her. if you feel embarassed and show limited expression, it gives of the impression of ungratefullness. or maybe thats just me with my manners, i dont know haha. so renesmee should socially gracefull, less whiney.

I agree. But funnily enough, I also find Bella to be a little bit attention-seeking at times. She clearly continually makes herself a martyr, which, to me, is an attention seeking behavior.

It makes me sad that Nessie probably won't be around Leah much, because of all the female characters, I think Leah has the most to offer. Sure, Rosalie has some serious strength, but it manifests itself in all the wrong ways as far as I'm concerned.

totally agree. rosalies selfish streak is not in anyway attractive, for renesmee to pick that up would be tragic. hopefully with the charlie/sue thing though she'd get to spend more time with leah. but i can imagine it would take a while to accept her for what she is though, leah has a history of jumping the gun sometimes haha

Impossible Baby? Well, she definitely has potential. I mean, Dhampirs are fun. It'd be interesting if Meyer, in future books, decided to actually [gasp] create conflict for her characters by making Renesmee's human side repulsed by her vampire side, and, egged on by Leah, turn against her parents and Jacob to become a vampire slayer and deny her status as Jacob's imprintee. That would be so cool.
Or if Renesmee were to find out that she was expected to become Jacob's lover on her seventh birthday, and freaked out (understandably, I should think) and ran off, say, to the Volturi or to live in hiding with Leah or something, that would be cool too.
If her super special Mod Edit: Not a problem being anti, however we do expect you to follow the forum rules. If you have any questions why this post has been edited, please make sure you read our site manifesto. ~Nena powers corrupted and she turned into an evil, psychopathic monster, and her parents were forced to take her down before she drained the blood from every human in Forks, that would be Meyer's Crowning Moment of Awesome. It would be epic. It would greatly redeem my opinion of Meyer's character development, too.
Conversely if Renesmee turns into a perfect little Bella 2.0, much head-desking would be in order.

I would, however like to pronounce my shock at the failfest that is her name. I mean, even Meyer acknowledges that it is strange and difficult to say. Renesmee Carlie Cullen... How is that an endearing, quaint name? It's worse than Albus Severus.
