1)When he compares his 'vegetarianism' with living on tofu & soy milk.

2) At this point, no. She will in "Balancing".

3)I think the whole chapter alludes to that, but basically two pages. Because she was already in too deep and made up her mind regarding Edward & her feelings for him.

4) A possible broken heart from the idea that he would go away and never return.

5) I think it was when he told her that he was tired of staying away from her - that blew her mind. And then when she took a walk in the woods and realized she could not be without him. Too painful for her to contemplate.

I have a couple
1)How old are you?...Seventeen...And how long have you been seventeen?...A while ***When edward/rob said this in the movie I seriously almost could not contain myself. My fiance was laughing at me b/c here I am sitting on the edge of my chair grin ear to ear.
2) My mind doesn't work right? I'm a freak?......I hear voices in my mind and you're worreid that you're the freak
3) You aren't concerned about my diet?

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
Yes, since the incident w/ the thugs and his reaction then. I think she is worred for Jacob b/c she thought he seemed nice when they met and definetly someone she could be friends w/.

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
That Edward is a vampire. DUH!!! :D

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
Rejection.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
I think when Edward said he was anxious to be away from Bella when he hunted. She feels the same way about being away from him. Also, when he leaned in towards her she got all dizzy and got butterflies. She could hardly think straight.

***This chapter was like the turning point of this story to me. So much was opened up. I just wanted to hug Edward myself when he was talking about his age and that he can't sleep.

[/b]1. There are so many humorous quotes from this chapter. The "zingers" keep coming. Which is your favorite from chapter nine and why?
It made me laugh when Bella was more worried that there was something wrong with her because Edward couldn't read her mind, than with Edward's being able to read minds. I also liked how worried she was about him speeding when she was sitting inches from a vampire.

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
I think she feels bad for using him, but I don't think she regrets it. She never would have gotten the information she needed otherwise.

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
Bella is in love with Edward, and she does not care what he is. She loves him the way he is, even if that means he's a vampire.

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
I think in this case she is hurt and embarrassed. She feels strongly for Edward and he basically told her she was wrong for feeling that way. That would have made anyone mad.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
I don't think she realized how she felt until that moment. But I think she started to fall for him the day he saved her from the van. I think her feelings were only reinforced when he helped her after the blood typing incident, because he showed that he did care about her. Then I think her feelings were cemented when Edward saved her from the thugs, and risked everything by being honest with her.

1. There are so many humorous quotes from this chapter. The "zingers" keep coming. Which is your favorite from chapter nine and why?
"No. Nothing fit. Most of it was kind of silly. And then..." I stopped.
"What?"
"I decided it didn't matter," I whispered.

She just stated she doesn't care what Edward is, about myths, legends, facts -- all that mattered was him, and her.

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
No, not at this point.

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
She's fallen into the damsel in distress psychological state -- having fallen in love with her savior. Granted she seemed to really take notice of him the first time she saw him, but then Edward is always saving her life, be it from someone else or from killing her himself despite the absolute unbearable torture he's putting himself through just to manage through it. Simply put, she loves him and it -- meaning everything else, doesn't matter.

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
She put her feelings, sort of, on the table and he cut her by expressing that he shouldn't be getting involved with her as such because he could kill her at any moment.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
You could say when she first laid eyes on him on her first day at school, though it seems like she really couldn't get him out of her head when he helped her get out of school during the blood testing day in biology. Dreaming about her, thinking about him while with Jacob, never ceasing to get him out of her head. So...at first sight?

I hear voices in my head/mind and you're worried you are the freak? Loved it. Can't remember the exact words but yeah lol. That would have been my response.

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
Yeah, she was worried for his safety so I think she was but I also think she was glad since she is finally getting the truth because of it.

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
Because she is already in love with him and love makes you nuts.

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
She was really hurt because she wants to be with him and around him but he keeps trying to push her away.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
Well I think it could have started when he saved her from the van. But she liked him when she first saw him besides getting irritated with him for being rude and stuff.

"I tell you I can read minds and you think you're the freak". I just thought it was funny and cute.

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
Yes because I don't think she meant to have him take it so seriously. She's probably worried that he thinks she likes him.

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
I think by this point she is pretty much in love with Edward. When you love somebody you love them for who they are as a person rather than their race or job etc. Edward being a vampire really isn't that different to him being a bank robber or something along those lines (though obviously a bit more dangerous for Bella) so she see past what he is and just see the person he is underneath.

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
Well I thought the fact that she only cries when she is angry usually shows how deeply she cares about Edward. I didn't think she was crying because she wasa angry but that Edward had gotten past her usual barriers that stop her from crying due to pain and hurt.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
I think she fell in love with him the day they first had dinner together and Edward took her home after she fainted. I think this because the day Jacob told her the story on the beach if she wasn't in love with him I think she would have been scared. But she was just curious and confused.

1. There are so many humorous quotes from this chapter. The "zingers" keep coming. Which is your favorite from chapter nine and why?
"It doesn't matter to me what you are" Bella
"Do you think I could be scary" Edward

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
Yeah cause she sees him as a friend and she's not the kind of girl that uses her friends

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
What Edward is, what his problems are, and if he loves her or not

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
I'm guessing she's frushtrated cause i cry when i'm frushtrated

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
When he finally opened up to her, she loved him before but know that she kinda knows him there's no going back

1. There are so many humorous quotes from this chapter. The "zingers" keep coming. Which is your favorite from chapter nine and why? I don't remember. I'd have to go look through this chapter again. I may edit later

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him? Nope. She doesn't seem any harm in some harmless flirting.

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella? She's discovered she's in love with this man and it doesnt matter to her. She sees him as a good guy.

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry. Probably anger and frustration.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward? Not sure.... I think that it's been happening over the last while and this is where she finally admits to herself she loves him.

For me it is the built in radar-thing with Edwards driving. And also when Edward says he hears voices i his mind, and Bella worries she's the freek

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
I think she regrets it to some extent, leading him on in a way. But I still think she would do it again, because the information she got was so important to her.

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
Because she is in love with the person Edward, and so does not care what he is. To her he is just the guy that she's in love with. And like she says..It really is too late to go back

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears givien that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
I was thinking that she feels frustrated by Edward seeming so negative about the prospect of them having a relationship, when he tells her that she should never say that it's too late. She feels rejected by him, and she is very emotional at this point.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
It's a bit hard to say. I think she felt an attraction to him straight away. And then some more when he tells her that he's tired of trying to stay away from her. And I think i really hit her during their night in Port Angeles and the drive back, when Edward opens up to her Just need to edit my self here...She fell i love with Edward much earlier than this. Realized it as I was reading chapters 6 and 7 again last night. When she realized that Edward could be a vampire (and that he certainly was no ordinary human), and was forced to decide what to do with that information. She came to the conclusion that she could do nothing different, that she in her nightmare had been afraid that he might get hurt, and that all she wanted at that moment was to be with him. Making such a decision clearly points out to me that this was the crucial moment, when she realized that accepting whatever Edward is was the only option she could choose. She also states that there never really was a choice. She already loved him.

Aww jeez...so many! I think I'd definitely have to say the three things quote. You experience the same sort of euphoric high she did after just being dazzled by Edward for a few hours. Then you hear that and it's epic. Fave!

2. Do you think Bella is starting to regret that she flirted with Jacob in order to get information from him?
I don't think so. She probably didn't think anything of it because Jacob really isn't involved much in her life (yet) and she loves Edward. She had to do what she had to do!

3. Much of the chapter centers around the phrase, "it doesn't matter". Why exactly doesn't it matter to Bella?
It doesn't matter because she's already in too deep with Edward. She knew something was up the first time and she's crazy and putting her life in danger at first, but hey! It's Edward. I'd do it too ;)

4. Bella is on the verge of tears once and then finally does cry a second time. What emotion do you think is largely responsible for her tears given that we know she only usually cries when she is angry.
It seems like she didn't want the car ride to end. When she first started tearing up, she was upset that he was going so fast and she would have to stop the answers from coming. I actually don't know why she was crying...strange.

5. The chapter ends with the famous "three things" quote. What exactly do you think was the point where Bella fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward?
Probably the point where he saved her life and then realized he was an actual person and not a blood sucking fiend. :)
