1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
Hmm, I kind of did relate to her right away. Because I've moved a lot, and I know how she felt, being the new kid in school. And I'm shy and have brown hair. (:

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?

Renee reminded me my mom a bit of, I mean that she had just met a man who she wanted to live with, and that stuff.. But Renee was sort of childish, but very nice, and I liked how she let Bella go..

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I liked Jessica (in the beginning) and Angela, that they included her, but i thought Mike and Eric was annoying..

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
I loved him from the very beginning! I was very intrigued. He was so interesting, but it was sad that he was so mad at her the first day. It really depressed me.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?

It was interesting. I wanted to find out why he behaved like that. But I liked him very much, despite his odd behavior.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?

I was hooked from the very first page, honestly. I love Stephenie's writing-style :)

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
Umm...not really. Well I guess with the shy part...I'm shy like her.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
I thought Renee was like a hippie/crazy mom. I liked her. I liked how Charlie was so laid back and let Bella have time to unpack. I hate when people hover.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
Mike reminded me of a friend I have (whose name is also Mike!) and Jessica seemed annoying.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
Inrigued. Definately not scared! I could never be scared of Edward!

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
I wasn't sure what to think. I wanted to find out what his deal was.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
Oh, I was definately hooked right away!

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I did relate to Bella right away. Mostly because she was leaving her mom behind to make her mom's life happier, and i know if i could make life better for my family that's what i would do!
But then I have blonde hair, not brown and I've never had to deal with seperated parents.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
I thought that Renee was a pretective parent just like most are, and she wanted to do what her daughter wanted, so she let her go to Forks.
I thought Charlie was very layed back. It was kind of funny! He is sort of like my dad. Always watching sports on TV. But my dad can cook lol. And he is not a cop, he's a gas fitter.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I thought they were very friendly, especially Mike with how he started to walk her from class to class even though he barely knew her. Jessica "seemed" pretty nice too.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
I was more intrigued. Not really scared, because I really didn't know anything about him yet. So I didn't go assuming things about him.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
At first I thought he was acting really odd, and I didn't really know what to think.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
Yes! By the first few pages, I was already like, wow! This is really good.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
i related to Bella immediately! i had literally started reading the book about 3 days after my father got married and moved out of the country. i also knew that she would do anything to make her mother happy and i am the exact same way. also, so much runs through her mind like mine. she's an observer and prefers to watch and understand rather than talk just like me.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
i thought renee was very innocent and childlike. i liked Charlie better thought so quiet and awkward about having his 17 year old daughter finally move back in with him.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
nice, very polite. didn't think much of them. though they seemed interested in Bella.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
intrigued of course! from the moment he jerked his head towards her at the lunch table and shot her dirty looks in class!!!!

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
just that he was different from everyone else. much more interesting!

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
oh i was hooked!

I am reading the book for the second time and my first impressions have not changed, I am just understanding a lot more and the images in my head are much more defined. I remember being quite surprised to discover that Bella's truck was red on SM website... I had imagined it white. Clearly, my brain did not accept the words the first time I read the book. It is really fun to start over and really pay attention!

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I don't know that I related to Bella, but I can identify with not wanting to be the center of attention.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
My first impression was "Why does Bella refer to her parents by their first name? Not only is it dissrespectful, but it is weird." It still bugs me. I accept it though.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
Pretty normal really. They left no strong imprint :) In fact, I kinda found them boring, but Bella was interesting.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
Intrigued!!! - hello hottie! Bella wasn't scared, why should I be?

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?

Edward had odd behavior??? Well, highschoolers do not always act "normal" so in a weird way, it was all okay and just made it more interesting to discover what was going on.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?Oh I was seriously hooked. I didn't know there was a fuss going on (and this was after BD was released) and 2 told me to read the book. So I listened to them. I am glad I did.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?

not completely, I would never go to a place I hate and I would never go on a plane al by myself. I'm dead scared of planes. but she was shy, so am I. I also don't like the center of attention.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?

I hadn't really an impression of Renee yet actually. My impression of Charlie was that he was like Bella. He likes to live on himself, is shy and doesn't talk much. But I think even he doesn't talk much, there's a lot going on in his mind.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?

well I found Mike annoying and Jessica as well, because clearly she only wants to be friends with her because she is the center of attention and so she could gossip about her behind her back. Angela is just a shy sweet girl. But I didn't really cared about them.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?

intrigued, I'm not scared that fast.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?

well I al ready knew he was a vampire because I read the back of the book. But I still wondered why he reacted that way to Bella and not to somebody else.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?

well I didn't knew it was such a popular book, I just passed by it in a bookstore and liked the style of writing, because it read so easy. I was hooked by the cover so I read the back and the preface and got hooked even more.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?

Actually, I did relate to Bella fairly quickly. I know a lot about the "switching parental hands" and moving to a small city, taking care of an immature mother, my hair and eye color are the same, I'm a bad liar, I have been known to be extremely klutzy in my lifetime, and I never felt like I "fit in" anywhere.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?

Renee reminded me of my mother, only Renee was nicer. (lol) I feel like Renee is the way she is because she regrets getting married so young and having a child so young. Instead of dealing with the decisions that were made, she ran away to be "free". She did take Bella with her, but apparently it was just for the company.

Charlie seems like a nice enough guy. I think he is closer to Bella's personality than Renee is. I don't think he was a bad parent, especially starting full-time parenting with a 17 year old! That has to be a difficult position for him, but I think he handled it well.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?

My first impressions were "am I back in high school?". I hated how when you were the "new kid" everyone was so nice and pleasant, but then things change quickly. I kind of felt like Bella did about them all. Jessica was a gossip, Mike was the typical "hottie" and Angela had real depth to her.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?

I am so fascinated by Edward it is ridiculous!

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?

At first I was worried that he didn't like Bella. But then, after he attempted to talk to her I knew everything would work out. I really didn't suspect anything about Bella's blood being the reason for his "outburst" so that was interesting.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?

I was hooked immediately. I have read all four books twice and I've had them for 2 weeks. I actually just started the first book for the third time!

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I liked that she didn't want to make her mother suffer by staying with her mom. The self sacrifice something I identify with. Also, I found out that we share the same birthday, hair color, and height.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
Renee is different. Charlie seems sweet, but standoffish.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
Um, Mix of feelings. Eric- Oh he is so nice. What a cute underdog! (I love the underdogs") Mike- Eh, the usual "jock" type. Girl-wise, they seem pretty cool, I guess.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
Intrigued, he is a mysterious guy and those are the usual ones I'm into.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
I didn't know what to think of it, It didn't make sense. i felt exactly how Bella felt.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
I was hooked almost immediately after she got into forks.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
Yeah I did...but just about that shy part...I'm pretty shy too...and I have brown hair :D

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
I didn't really know what to make of Renee cause there wasn't really much to look into but I guess I liked her...Charlie was interesting...he obviously loved Bella but had hard time showing it...and that's where Bella's shyness comes from:]

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
For the first time I liked Eric...he reminded me of my friend...kind of...that was really my first impression..But I didn't like Mike...I just got that impression that he was that kind of guy that....that I just don't like...haha...very descriptive :D

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward
To say the truth - both. I was both scared and intrigued because I didn't know what to make of him.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
I really didn't know what to think of him...that's why I found him interesting

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
I was hooked from when Charlie came for Bella on the airport....I dunno why but that was the moment that got me really reading :D

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I really identified with Bella's move. She had to go somewhere unfamiliar for the sake of a family member's happiness. I have recently had to do the same thing. I had to move to NC with my husband for the military. I really related to her feelings on the subject.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
Renee seems very ditzy to me. I think her relationship with Bella is a bit reversed. I think Bella being with Charlie is a better fit. He is more able to take care of her and provide a more stable environment, in my opinion.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I think that the first people that Bella meets are very typical high school kids. I think that Bella is just too mature for the group of people she meets at school. They are nice, but they just seem so young to me. I think that is why she doesn't relate to them very well.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
A bit of both I would say. I really just wanted to know what his problem was. He seemed very rude, but I also knew that his problem was rooted much deeper. I was excited to figure out what was going on in his head.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
He obviously had a major aversion to Bella; I was curious to discover what it was.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
The first chapter didn't completely sell me. I was interested but not completely hooked.
