1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?

Ok the cullens have lots of money that they pretty much use to get them what they need, what they needed at that moment was to save Edward, so Alice used it, she didn't want to be stopped end of story.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?

no I knew she would but still I was like RUN FASTER!

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?

I was like ok Edward you are GONE! what the heck is wrong with you, but it was also oh so cute, because his heaven has her in it :D

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!

oh she must be a higher up to have that kind of authority

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?

Oh i always knew he loved her still, I was so happy he was back.

I don't think that she really thought much about it. It's pretty obvious that money doesn't mean as much to them as it does to humans and she knew that this would get her what she wanted. Very smart girl :P

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?
I was on the edge of my seat this whole time and even though I knew there was a third book in the series (I started reading the series around the time eclipse came out), I was still panicking in my head thinking "Oh my gosh something is going to go wrong".

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
At first I didn't get what he was thinking, and I didn't get it until Bella said "we're not dead"...but that's probably because when I was reading this part, I pretty much had a huge smile on my face and looked like a little kid in a candy store because I was so happy that they were finally back together.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
At first I was like "what the heck Edward! You can take this little girl!" but then I realized that he's very smart, so if he's backing off, there must be a logical explanation behind it. I was very curious.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
I thought Bella was insane at this part. Edward was just going to kill himself because he'd thought that she was dead. and then he was like holding her and protecting her. I don't know what more proof she needed. I knew that he still loved her and that he was just being over protective and trying to save her when he left at the beginning of the book.

When she was packing to leave Denali to go to Charlie, she probably packed a bunch of stuff, cash included, in case she needed it. She's well prepared.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?
The entire time she was running through the plaza.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
I was surprised that he thought they were dead.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
I thought she must be very powerful to make Edward back off like that.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
I was starting to be suspicious of Edward's words in the forest all those months ago.

I think that she was just prepared for whatever she made need/encounter for this trip. I think it was really that she just grabbed something and gave it to him not really caring, it's not like money is tight.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?
Yes I was worried but I thought she would get there. I guess that doesn't make that much sense but whatever haha.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
I thought he was stupid and I thought it was kinda funny and cute at the same time. But it was definitely a little frustrating.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
I was really curious actually, I didn't know she belonged to the Volturi. Obviously he feared her for some reason though.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
It was obvious that he still loved her. I mean realllyyyy. But I don't think she wanted to get her hopes up so she was trying to convince herself otherwise.

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?
I was kinda surprised at first because up until then Alice was all sweetness and roses. She never seemed sneaky, but after reading felt it made her sound more at ease in the world. I liked it.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?
Well I had the benefit of knowing there were two books to come, so I knew Edward couldn't really be killed off so early, but my heart was definitely in my throat.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
The first time I read it, I was scanning so quickly through the chapter, terrified something bad would happen to Edward that I didn't think about it to much. Mostly I was terrified that Bella and Edward would be massacred on the spot even though they were in a crowd.
But it was such a significant part, it's the first moment when you get that little feeling of reassurance that Edward still is the good guy, he still loves Bella so much being with her was being in heaven. *Sigh*(

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
I didn't get the nervous feeling I did when James went scary in Twilight. The first thing I thought of Jane was that it was a knock off of Anne Rice's young female character (don't remember her name). That girl was evil too, but she certainly didn't have Jane's powers. I totally didn't expect that!

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
I thought everything will go back to normal, Edward loves Bella!!!! Then I thought Edward should feel stupid because his hurtful actions to protect Bella has put her in more danger then ever!! If he's just loved her forever like a good boy, the Volturi would never have been the wiser and maybe the showdown in Breaking Dawn wouldn't have had to happen!

BTW, filling out those questions kinda felt like a book report. Does anyone actually read and consider everyone else's answers or is this a way to up your post count? I think the discussion format for these chapter-by-chapter discussion threads could stand an overhaul. Anyone agree with me?b]

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?
She was willing to do anything to save her brother, and she did not want to take any chances. Time was very important, and if there was a ton of money, then it would be easier for him to make a decision.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?
Absolutly NOT. Soulmates. Remember? And they had another book, so everything had to work out.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
Wow... He really thought she was dead.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
Great! This litle girl is making Edward scared. She must be a super bad-backside-vampire. I wonder what her talent is ;)

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
I knew he was feeling whole and relieved and breathing for the frst time in centuries. I know he was rememorizing eery part of her, just as she was him. And he was making every second last cause he knew they were probably going to die. And he would indefinatly die protecting her.

1) a. That she must have realized that it would take a lot to get in the city. b. That 1.-must be nice to have that kind of cash on hand and 2. her forsight.

2)Yes. Especially when she was trying to yell his name and was so hoarse and slow in her running. The bell tolling didn't help.

3)That he had really lost his mind and will to live.

4) What was the big deal. But I immediately after that thought that she might possess the formidable gifts Alice talked about on the plane and that's why Edward backed down.

5) That he was so stunned and thrilled to have her in his arms. That he loved her so much and could not believe that she was really there with him.

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?
I mean what you gotta do you gotta do...lol It was the only way she could get thru 2 Edward. She had to otherwise they wouldn't have much time left. She did what she had to.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?
NO! I would cry if she didn't....I knew Stephenie Meyer wouldn't cause her fans that much heartbreak. I knew she was gonna save him in time...They were meant for each other. Destiny...fate...
3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
I was like . I wanted to tell Edward, NO she's here, she's alive, she still loves you, GO EDWARD! GET THE GIRL!
4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
I thought she was a human. Until it began her description as a vampire. I thought she was a newborn.
5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
I think it was romantic. Because it's romantic if someone wants to protect you and hold you..It shows that they want nothing bad to happen to you..And they want you to be safe.

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?
-I was suprised it would take that much money to bribe him! I knew the Cullens were rich, but I didn't know to just how rich they really were. Alice mustve forseen the officer not taking anything less then the amount she gave him.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?
-I was always worried she wouldn't get there in time, but I think I knew Bella was meant to save Edward.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
-I was like "Edward, stop being stupid, you need to hurry it out of there NOW"! haha.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
-I figured she must be the one in charge of the Volturi and she was very powerful.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
-I thought Bella was being so stupid! I knew Edward was protecting her and loving her as much as he could at the moment. I couldn't understand why Bella didn't see that.

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?

The Cullen's hardly ever use their money, so Alice probably didn't know exactly how much cash she was handing over. None of the Cullen's can quite grasp the concept of how money can be so important.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time to save Edward?

I knew that she HAD to get there in time to safe Edward. What kind of story would it be if she got there and the Volturi had already gotten Edward?

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?

I wanted to slap him. My heart was pounding because if he didn't realize it soon enough, they would both be dead. I was mentally helping Bella push him back into the shadows.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!

I was thinking along the same lines as Bella. What was the big deal? She was just a teenager. Edward could take her.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?

I thought that he was doing it out of love for her. As soon as I found out he was trying to kill himself because Bella had, I knew that he still loved her.
