Here are the discussion questions as provided for us by Ellabelle.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
If she had, perhaps Jacob would have understood he better. I don't know.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
It would be settling more on his behalf, because she would never have loved him the way he loved her. He was never going to be able to fully replace Edward.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
I think he was discounting himself to not.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
Meh. I thought she needed to just be more aware of his feelings and how the things she did impacted him.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
It is in the idea that "norms" said they shouldn't be together, but in every other way, I see it as different.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
I don't think investigating the car was necessary, because none of the Cullen's would physically hurt her or Charlie. No, I don't believe the relationship is masochistic.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?
Truth? I think Bella and Edward's relationship is healthier, because at least they are on the same page. It's not a girl spending time with a guy who has feelings for her. I think the relationships are both hard in their own ways. While Edward can sense her blood and may feel a compulsion to kill her, Jake has a terrible reign on his temper and could phase and hurt her at any point.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
Yes she should!

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
I don't think that Bella would be comfortable giving Jacob just part of her heart. Jacob would take anything she offered him, sure, but in the end, Bella wouldn't think that it was fair to Jacob to do that to him.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
He loves her a lot. I think that yes, he should wait for someone who can love him equally in return. It's not that Bella doesn't love him or anything, but he deserves more than what Bella can offer him.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
Just because she owes him her life - by rescuing her both physically and emotionally - doesn't mean that she should start up a relationship with him or give him false hope.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
Well, they're entirely different from each other to start with. With R&J, their families didn't want them together but with E & B, it's not their families don't want them to be together (although certain ppl in Edward's family certainly believe that), it's that human/vampire relationships aren't meant for each other. It's the same in that both would die for their significant other..none of them can believe that their sig. other really loves them back...

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
Yes, Bella should have investigated Carlisle's car! I think we can safely say that no "bad" vampire could have gotten their hands on that car! To an extent her relationship with them is masochistic. They all love her (for the most part). It's not as if they intentionally hurt her, it's more Edward's relationship with her that's masochistic...because he's the one who keeps hurting her - even if he does (crazily) think that it's good for her.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?
Bella & Jacobs relationship is probably the more healthy in that Bella is safer with him. They're both human (well, with Jacob, you get what I mean) and going to more readily accepted in society. But with Bella and Edward, they are in love, and willing to sacrifice each ones self for the other...I'd say the relationships are very similar but also very different in that they are on 2 totally different levels.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?

......no. I'm all for confiding because it's generally very helpful, but in this situation, telling Jake about her hallucinations, depression, and Edward-withdrawl(to put it lightly) would not be a good idea, nor would it turn out well. Because no matter how hard he tried, there would be NOTHING Jake could do to heal those wounds and it would only wind up being more painful for both of them.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?

Yes. It would post definitely be settling for Bella to "hook up" with Jake. We see that her whole heart will always belong to Edward. It's too unfair to settle on Jake simply because her "fickle Romeo" is absent. I see it as, if you can't give all of your heart, don't give any of it.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?

Yes. There's no need for him to waste away on Bella. If there's love, it must be mutual on both sides. Bella can't give Jake all of her, he needs to find a girl who can. He deserves that.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?

There have been numerous relationships(purely platonic) with similar situations. Bella will always owe Jake her life emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc. but it doesn't go past that to where they need to have a romantic life together. They'll have a very strong friendship where they can love each other and Bella will always be eternally greatful to Jake.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?

Bella and Edward hold very many similarities and differences with Romeo and Juliet. The main similarity: They both will die for the other. The main difference: Bella and Edward's relationship is less mercurial in the sense that for both of them, there had never been anyone else in their past. Just the two of them. Now and always.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?

Nope. She was right to go on her gut instict. Gut instincts tend to be correct, even for Bella. Especially for Bella. Of course her relationship with the Cullens in masochistic, but for both sides. Being around Bella is painful emotionally and physically for the Cullens but ALL of them put up with it because they love her as she loves them.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?

Maaaaany comparisons. Too many really...Jake and Bella's is healthier in the long run, but Bella and Edward's is healthier for the moment and on emotionally, but not physically. Physically, neither is really healthy for Bella.

1. It depends. For the sake of Bella, she should. But then Jacob and Edward weren'[t happy-happy friends, so then that might be a bad idea. Maybe when Jacob is in a good mood.

2. No. Bella still does love Edward, and Jacob would mean nothing to her. He partially is acting like her cane.

3. He should wait. If I were him, I would know Bella is set on Edward.

4. Well, he is there to comfort Bella. He also saves her numerous times in the book.

5. Well, Bella and Edward are allowed to be together, but it is not supportive. Plus, nobody really dies in the end, but it came pretty close.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
No. I think what she thought was good enough.

7. Well, Bella and Edward's relationship is stronger. But, since Edward left, Jacob and Bella's relationship is healthier, since it is still blooming, and put together.

Here are the discussion questions as provided for us by Ellabelle.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
I think she should, so her feelings won't be so hidden that badly. '

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
I feel no, because she has already given most of her heart to Edward, and she would never feel the same way towards Jacob.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
Yes, he should.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
No idea, but she does owe him big time.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
Yes. But we need a Paris , who I think is Jacob, except they don't kill each other(Edward and Jacob), and Bella loves Jacob too. (Juliet didn't love Paris.)

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
Nope. I think her relationship with the Cullens is a masochistic one, especially that she always hurt herself for the sake of the Cullens.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?
Um, none of them is healthy. But the healthier one would be Bella and Edward.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
He was her friend....so yes

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
NOO

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
yes, of course. love isn't any good if it's wasted on somebody who doesn't care nearly as much as you do... = /

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
....

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
yes, they were both willing to end their lives....

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
i don't know that word....lol

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?
i think with jake it's slightly healthier...but then again....she loved edward and always will/would..so being w/o him is more unhealthy than being with him and "obsessed" as some would say.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
I really do think Bella should have told Jacob about her hallucinations. Not in the beginning, but eventually. I don't think it's all that easy to hide depression and I am sure Jacob knew that.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
I think I would. If I thought Edward was seriously gone forever, I would choose someone I loved, and Jacob is lovely. At a certain point Bella gets to choose if she wants to be miserable forever or try and get on with life. I don't think she is pecimistic by nature, so I think she would choose to live with what she has.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?I don't think Jacob can change his feeling for Bella, no matter how much he wants to. He loves her. period. I think he will wait until something else comes along that can fill that love.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally? It changes nothing. Bella would give her life for Jacob. I believe that. Bella is pretty darn selfless not that I think about it.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
I can't even go there...

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
First off... I needed a specific definition before I could answer the question. masochistic 1 : a sexual perversion characterized by pleasure in being subjected to pain or humiliation especially by a love object 2 : pleasure in being abused or dominated : a taste for suffering
So, no I don't think needed to investigate the car. I think she was 100% confident. According to the definition, I don't think she is masochistic. I don't think she takes any please in the pain.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?
Bella's relationship with Jacob is healthier. There is more trust and a family love, which is different from a passionate heart breaking love.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
i think that would just hurt jacob, he would realize why they first started hanging out in the first place, and the motive behind all the stuff they had been doing together.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
it would be the best choice if she knew that edward was gone forever.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
jacob loves her so much, he cant change that. he will either wait for her, and wait for someone else that he can love just as much or more.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
it doesnt really change anything. they are best friends, it is what they should do for each other.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
oh there's way too many similarities. but a difference, romeo seemed very fickle. he went from rosaline straight to juliet, and i think he was in love with being in love. edward and bella's love is both their first loves.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
i dont think she needed to investigate the car. and the relationship is masochistic, she puts them over herself time after time, knowing she has every chance to get hurt.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is "healthier"?
bella and jacob's is probably more healthy. but it doesnt matter. bella and edward are meant to be together, it doesn't mean everything will be right, we just know it will be right in the end.

I just have one thing in this chapter that I don't understand:

Towards the end of the chapter on pg 376 Jacob talks about 'singing'. I don't really get that.
