I just watched the DVD with the commentary the other day and something Rob said made me think...he was mentioning how Esme's scene where Carlisle bites her is much more sexy than his scene with Carlisle. It made me wonder why Catherine thought it would be a sexy moment at all? Esme had fallen (jumped) off a cliff and Carlisle had taken her out of the morgue. Everyone else thought she was dead. I doubt she would have reacted in any way to the bite. Just another one of those silly, little discrepencies from the book to the movie. Just wanted to share my thoughts about it!

I totally agree and even wondered the same thing myself.

Kinda related to that scene... Did anyone else think that the version of MuteMath's Spotlight was different in the DVD from the movie in the theatre? I saw it in the theatre 4 times and I am fairly confident that the version (that starts out in the parking lot) was the same as what it on the soundtrack--but it sounds very different when that scene starts on the DVD. As it progresses into the walk on the rocks, and Edward's telling of his and Esme's change, it sounds more the same as the original (it's just background music without lyrics at that point). I liked it better with the soundtrack version.

I hope someone else noticed and I'm not crazy. Of course paying to see the movie 4 times would classify me as crazy in some books.

Okay so what I didn't like was how Port Angeles lacked the fact that Bella knew what Edward was. I didn't like how she found out, either.

I wished the Biology scene was put in! Its was one of my favourite scenes in Twilight. Understandable they couldn't put every scene in, but I wish they could have squeezed it in somewhere!

i agree emma i really wanted to see the biology scene but i suppose it would of been har to do as the more personal interaction between edward and bella would of had to of started already.

debussygirl: same here i hated the way bella found out and the Port Angeles scenes just didn't have the same meaning to me as they did in the books

I think all the extended scenes and the scenes that didn't make it on the movie were a big mistake. Everyone of those scenes were about a character in the book, getting to know them. But they didn't used them instead they put in sceney? Doesn't make sense to me. The Bella and Edward walking in the forest. Esme and Carlisle, the dream scene all were so much insight into the actual character and true to the book it was just too bad. At least we got to see them. Hope they don't make the same mistakes on NM.

I personally think that a lot of the reason some of those scenes weren't put into the movie is because of the horrible acting. Or the inappropriateness (ie, Bella's makeout with Edward or James & Victoria's "i love it when men chase me" scene). Some of those scenes were so stiff and emotionally void that I couldn't believe they actually wanted people to see them. The one scene I would have loved to see in the movie was Carlisle and Esme's scene where they talk about Bella bringing Edward to life...although it got a little cheesy and flat at the end, I thought it would have fit nicely into the movie. But the forest scene where they both slowly sink to the ground and start speaking in monotone...or the bedroom scene with the chinchilla droppings...what was that? lol

The one scene I was so insanely upset with was the meadow scene. If anything that was the one scene that SM should have gave them hell about because it was the basis for the entire series! And the way it was written into the script was just awful. And even though I did enjoy the kitchen scene (with Emmett's knife waving and Rosalie busting glass lol), I much prefer the one in the book. It has more emotion in it. And the end scene with the prom. Shame on the costume people! Bella looked so cheap and generic...she's supposed to look stunning and beautiful with Alice's makeover, not like she just bought her dress at WalMart, threw on some leggings and walked out the door. And no Aston Martin *sigh* lol but that I would have understood. Not exactly an easy car to come by...

I also missed the character development and the relationship development that the movie lacked, especially with Bella and Alice. And poor Jasper and Emmett got absolutely no love in this movie at all.

*sigh* It's still Twilight though<3

I thought that Bella was at the Cullen house anyway when she was getting ready for the prom because Charlie phones either Edward or Bella and says that Tyler is outside the house waiting for Bella. That scene in the book really cemeted Edward and Bella's relationship for me, when Edward asks for Tyler to be put on the phone.

Also Charlie is a lot more friendly towards Edward in the book, when they first meet, doesn't he say for Edward to call him Charlie and they seem to get on really well, it isn't until the end of New Moon/Eclipse when Charlie dislikes Edward.

"You can google it" was a fantastic line added.

The lead up to the meadow scene was different, and for me, detracted from the 'loveliness' of the scene.

Well I would agree with you on most of the points the acting no. but the topic was about the scenes of the movie on the DVD so the complaints about the movie isn't right. I do agree with you there also. But that wasn't what was asked.

i really was hoping the bloodtypying was in the movie. it was one of my favorite scenes in the book. so pissed that was not included.

i hated that they changed the jacob and bella scene. jacob should have been the one to confirm that edward was a "bloodsucker"! then he said in the book, i guess i just broke the treaty. why was that not in there? sigh

anyway. i dont think the scene where bella and edward were standing in the tree was very neccesary. i think it was a waste of time. i dont think edward would have risked bella's safety by making her stand on a hundred ft tall tree. :( Com'on people!

i wont even start with how dissapointed i was in the meadow scene! i just dont have that much time!
