Is Jasper and Rosalie's last name in the movie still Hale, or is it Cullen?

I think there is a huge difference between book Edward and movie Edward... and it makes me sad :(

In the book, Edward is self confident- almost cocky- and always polite and gentlemanly. The part of the movie that makes this difference between book and movie Edward obvious, at least to me, was in the office when he is talking to Ms. Cope about changing classes. In the book he is exceedingly polite, says something like "I see that it isn't possible, thanks you for your time" and in the movie he is rude and basically storms out saying that line about having to endure.

And, as mentioned earlier, his honking at her just seemed so out of character!

It just seems like the movie had a more "modern" Edward, which was too bad because he lost a lot of his charm.

^ I COMPLETELY agree.
One of the main reasons why I love Edward is his politeness and olden day-ness(?).
In the movie, he was rude a couple of times, dragged Bella along in the meadow thingy, said sex about 3-4 times in one sentence... Am I'm sure he said things like 'gunna' 'wanna' and things like that... and that is a completely different Edward from the book..
and it made me disappointed.. that Melissa and Catherine changed how Edward is.
The only time he was totally polite was when he introduced himself to Charlie.

The didn't need to make Eddie modern.. because we fell in love with Eddie in the book, not this new modern Eddie.

I agree with roseaurora.

The 2 main characters (Bella and Edward) of the movie are a little too OOC for my taste. I hope they will work on it in NM.

Regarding the polite comment above, not true, Edward was polite to Bella during the 2nd bioclass scene for one.

There were some instances where he was polite, that's true.. but there were also instances where he was not polite... which have been pointed out already (the way to talked to Ms. Cope, honking at Bella from the street, dragging her up the hillside...) so, I do feel that the earlier statement is still true and that these behaviors are inconsistent from the Edward we love from the books.

I think the biggest flaw was in the deleted scenes, the one where Bella lets Edward bite her finger.

I don't like how the director claims she loved the scene and wished it made it into the movie... It's so out of character for both of them (not to mention the whole "vampire biting human equals bad" concept), if it had made it in, heads would've rolled.

I actually think I would've thrown stuff at the screen if that made it in to movie..

Did Catherine even READ Twilight? It sounds like she didn't :x
