Don't worry. I understand. It has been a tough day for the fandom and the trolls are out to make it worse.
Ok, those posts are gone, so carry on! :)

I really hope that one day we will get Edward's story. I found a link to a petition on facebook in reguards to Midnight Sun and signed not in the intention of getting it written faster but hoping that Stephenie will see my message of support. There is already 1500 posts from fans who also are upset and feel bad for Stephnie!!! (if your wanting to sign the link is here http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/save ... index.html). I just hope that she will see that we are here for her and that we support her decisions either from the lexicon or the petition.

I still cannot believe that some trusted person leaked it! I'm wondering how you can leak 12 chapters of a novel without malicious intention. Whoever leaked it must have known that it would upset Stephenie!!!! She is just such a talented writer and to have her rights violated like this is just so unfair and whoever posted it must know that it is a huge chunk of the book and a major violation of her rights! I hope Stephenie can find opeace with this

i do feel bad for stephenie, i really do. as a writer myself, i understand her pain, to an extent.
ive had a story stolen from me, no copyright on my hand :[
BUT. i am also a little tiny bit mad under the dissapointment.
im just a little bit mad she would do this to us. her fans, her readers.
no offense to her, but how can she continue other writing projects in her frame of mind, as she says.
but no,i understand that she needs a break and time with her family. i just feel like
were all paying for the mistake whatever idiot it was that leaked, made.

I don't know how much good this will do, but I would also like to state for the record that I do not intend to read any pirated or leaked copies of "Midnight Sun". I understand why SM posted it on her site, but I refuse to read it there as well. I want it in a legal, published form - even if it's only the 12 chapters. Perhaps one day - if SM decides she will never continue with Edward's story - there will be a special edition of "Twilight" that includes the 12 chapters as a bonus. This is the only way I will read it, either this way or if SM decides to finish the manuscript and have it published as a stand-alone book.

And let me say that refusing to read the 12 chapters SM posted on her site is a great personal sacrifice to me. Reminiscent, perhaps, of Edward's refual to give in to his instinct of bloodlust in order to do what is right (I know that analogy sounds totally silly, but I am very serious about not reading the manuscript until it is published). I have not been a fan of the "Twilight" series for as long as so many others, but I loved it instantly and craved reading all four books so voraciously that my husband was quite amused at my obsession. I even insisted on reading the first book aloud to him (he falls asleep when he reads, so he can't ever get through a book, lol) because I was certain he would love the story too - and I was right. I, like most "Twilight" fans, have pored over all four of the books several times over so that I could experience the characters and their stories again and again. And each time I am finished, I miss the characters tremendously and crave reading more about them. So when I say that I refuse to read the 12 chapters, it is not said easily or lightly.

I know that I cannot possibly say anything new that no one else is feeling. All I can do is make my own solitary promise not to read the "Midnight Sun" manuscript until it is in a proper published form. If SM ever reads these posts, perhaps she will see our messages of encouragement and be inspired to one day continue with Edward's story. In the meantime, I will enjoy her other books. I would also hope that she does get lots of opportunity to rest and enjoy time with her family. Thanks, Stephenie, for sharing your stories with the world. :)

Just wanted to say that I admired your post. I once made the same promise you did about not reading Midnight Sun until it was in its officially published form, but I succumbed to temptation. I regret ever cracking that file open though, because once it's done, it'll leave me yearning for more. Then the withdrawal will begin... I wish the Twilight series would never end.

I'm not gonna read the drafted chapters... because it seemed to me like Stephenie REALLY didn't want people to. It also seemed like she was still undecided about whether or not she will eventually publish it; even though she said 'indefinately' there were other sections that suggested there is still hope... so I'm not gonna read them (even though I REALLY want to... the first chapter in itself is just so good! :D) until she announces that it will never be published, or something like that. If that happens, I'll read them, but not now. It's not like they won't still be available in case that's what anyone is worried about. I have faith that she will finish and publish it eventually.

Ahhhhhh! I'm so mad! Mad at those who leaked the story. And mad that it has "indefinitely" stopped the finishing of Midnight Sun!

I haven't read the 12 chapters. I feel that it would just even violate Stephenie even more even though she has posted it up herself. I'm so sad about the news that I thought I would just cry. :'(

And I can't help but wonder, can Stephenie sue?

INDEFINATELY

That is now the most deaded word in my vocabulary. :(
I was really hoping that we would get to read the entirety of Midnight Sun...published. I hope that we still get that chance. But I guess we will atleast have to wait a little longer, I hope that Stephenie will be able to finish but, if she doesn't I completely understand.
I am still in shock that someone could even do this to Steph, and the fandom for that matter. It's just... whoa.

I read the first chapter of Midnight Sun and it's amazing! It's so cool to see things form Edward's point of view.
I can't wait to read more.
...................
I should rephrase.
I cannot wait to read the complete version.
I refuse to read the draft. Stephenie wanted to post the first chapter and then, we would read the rest when the book was finally published.
As much as I would like to see more clearly into Edward's head and get a better idea of what was going on in Twilight, I don't want to read it now. I will wait until Stephenie finishes the novel, has it editted, and publishes it. I don't care how long that may take. Unless Stephenie decides that she is never finishing it, I will not read what it posted on her site.
