It's now well after midnight, and what have I been doing? Until an hour ago, I was sewing doll clothes for my daughter (tomorrow, uh, I mean today, is her birthday). But then the kittens started meowing - we've rescued a litter of 4 kittens. Well, my husband thought that to help warm them up and keep them warm during the night, he'd put a baggie of hot water under a towel for them to cuddle up to. Apparently, it worked, and they calmed down and went to sleep. Until 3:00 am, when their meowing brought me downstairs. I found them laying on a wet towel, all of them soaked and shivering. I don't know what he was thinking, but it seems he forgot kittens have claws, and a simple ziploc baggie is no match for said claws. I've spent an hour drying them off and warming them back up. I have to get up in less than 2 hours - is it worth going to bed?
