Re: Scott Westerfeld --The Uglies series
I liked Diego. Mostly because I'm 99% sure it was the future San Diego. I was like, "Yay! My hometown doesn't go crazy!"

Yes it does. You're city makes Specials!
Not that I mind... I still wnat to be one...
But its okay Chloe! I was really sad when Zane died too!
And I really liked Extras! I liked reading about the other cities and seeing how they handled stuff, it was very interesting.
SPOILER ALERT for Chole, if she hasn't read it yet: And there's Frizz, the new pretty boy. He's almost as good as Zane.

Re: Scott Westerfeld --The Uglies series
I love Scott Westerfeld. It took me a while to get into Uglies because I didn't start it until I had finished Peeps and the Last Days, so I started reading it and was all "where are the vampires". Once I got over that I really loved it...and yeah Tally does steal a lot of Shay's men.
That one's for Ianto. Risen Mitten, Life Knife, and that old classic...Stun Gun.

Er, I saw debussygirl posting it. I read. But if you wnat, I'll go back to calling you Rita, or you call call me Viola off the Mafia. *shrugs*
I was gunna read Peeps, but after I read the summary and how it was about ahem, STD's, I backed away swiftly. I'd rather not read about stuff like that......

No, it's okay, I just didn't know you knew.
Let me clear something up, peeps is not for children. Enough said.
It was dirty and sucked. Don't bother.

Re: Scott Westerfeld --The Uglies series
It wasn't that bad, there was lots of information about various parasites in it, it tied historical concepts together, and the idea of vampires bringing about the end of the world by forming a band makes me smile. And yeah, it's not for children, but Uglies wasn't intended for children either, just on a subtler level.

It wasn't bad, it was just, not what I'm used to.
If you don't like that kinda stuff, I wouldn't read it.
But anyway, It was bad book.

Re: Scott Westerfeld --The Uglies series
Well, there's no smut in Uglies, and I'm pretty sure there is a lot in Peeps, considering how the vampire diease is spread. Smut = mega moral headaches. Therefore, I readeth not, to save my brain from the dirtyness.
And I find the vampire diease much better explained in I Am Legend. It makes sense in there.
And the only vampires that will end the world with music is Fall Out Boy *grins*
They make awesome vampires.

Re: Scott Westerfeld --The Uglies series
lol. but its not an STD per say. it can be spread by cats, rat bites, kissing.....even using the same utensils and there were no explicit scenes...actually the kissing scene wasn't even described in detail.
