Latin Thread

Postby December » Sun Sep 21, 2008 1:01 am

Back by popular demand...the Lex Latin Thread. A thread for Latinists to hang out on, swap Latin sayings, try their hand at discussing Twilight in Latin, try their hand at translating Twilight into Latin...whatever takes everyone's fancy. The original Latin Thread had a somewhat chequered career (*grin*); this one probably ought to confine itself to Latin concerns. Though I hope that everyone who posted on the old thread will stop by and post here for old time's sake!

Gaudeamus igitur, iuvenes dum sumus.
Post iucundam iuventutem, post molestam senectutem
Nos habebit humus.

Vita nostra brevis est; brevi finietur.
Venit mors velociter, rapit nos atrociter,
Nemini parcetur.

...praeter lamias.

Floreat filum latinum!

And by popular demand, December, of course you mean me bugging you. :D

Hmm...how shall I begin?
Magis quam meam vitam.
I always thought that should have been written in Latin, anyway. ;)

Superbia et Praeiudicatam Opinionem specto. Hanc filmam amo! (I just made up a word for "movie")

Ah, this thread shall be great fun ;) if anyone actually posts on it. *crosses fingers*

edit:
I'm sad.

Well, I was trying to remember...if there is an implication of "whoever" about it, does it slip into the subjunctive?

I thought it was just a relative clause.. Hmm. You may be right.
Subjunctive *shudder*

not sure when my next test is. I'm taking AP Latin Vergil --- hence the work load... but we can't chat here (mods don't like it) and december knows what trouble I get in with that lol... anywayyy
