I wouldn't settle for James, I'd settle for Cam! Actually, that wouldn't be settling at all. I'm perpetually single. I've always been the 'single' friend. I can't stand it when people ask me why I'm single. Um, I don't know, why don't you tell me? Or, when people feel bad for me because I am single. I'm single, I'm not dying. It isn't that bad, especially if you're used to being solo but it does have its disadvantages.

I have a question, maybe this will help us start things up.
In your opinion, what is the worse thing about being single?

edit: Alternative Moon- I try to keep a positive outlook too. I'm not sure what more a person can do, but dwelling on the past doesn't help the situation. To move forward we must leave the past behind.
I'm sorry you two broke up after so long. Did she even say why?

In my opinion the worst thing about being single is all of my friends are married and hanging with them is totally akward. Sometimes, I feel like I will never find anyone. Dating is so for the birds and blind dates just suck.

I also have this way of attracting men who are 50+ and no teeth or I attract the young guys who think they are the shiznat.

Single life has it's advantages but then other times is a total buzz kill.

I agree dwelling on the past doesnt help anything, and I have gotten far since then. If I manage going to an 3 doors down concert in november without breaking down, I would say that she is officially history.

She just said she wasnt sure she loved me anymore. I dont know.. Didnt help me as I still loved her atleast. But as I said I gotten far, and almost doesnt think about her anymore.

I agree with skylarblue, even though my friends arent married they are all in serious relationsships. It really can be akward. And you really start wondering what may be wrong with yourself, since your the single person. But 5 months arent long, so I got nothing to complain about yet :)

Is it possible to be ready to date and yet hate dating? I can't stand going on dates. I feel like I'm on a job interview. I rarely even get asked out. I wonder if I give off the 'I'm taken' vibe? My work schedule makes it extremely difficult for me to meet people, particularly a cute single man. Bars and clubs are a thing of the past. Where are places you would expect to meet people?

Well, I havnt done alot of dating the last urhm many years, but im sure I would hate it too, I can see your point with the job interview.

I occasionally ask myself where to find girls. I dont know. I know its not in clubs or bars though for 2 reasons

1. most just want 1 thing

2. most have been enjoying the local drinks too much, and thats not very charming
