before twilight & edward came along, jesse from the mediator series was my absolute favorite. he's still basically perfect, but we all know that no one could even compare to edward, or even jacob. haha.

i must have a thing for non-human boys.

This is so true. I mean. . . guys in book do obviously have their faults, but they are mainly things like jealousy, overprotectiveness, things like that. This is because, female authors create them. Yes, they are usually already fully formed (personality wise), but a product of their imagination. And, whether or not you agree to it. . . . us girls always want the perfect guy. Our long term husbands usually turn out to be our companions, and after we meet them, we wouldn't give them up for Edward, (hopefully), but. . . . if it was just for one night, ONE night with these characters. . . . . we'd all take that option.

So, My ghostly boy-toy before the dazzling Edward Cullen was: Jesse de Silva. I had a small crush on Paul, but. . . . that Latin flavour was what I was really after.

Those were really the two MAIN book obsessions. Other mini ones were Harry Potter, Clark Kent and Hunter Niall, from the Sweep Series.

I don't have a lot, I am very picky about movie actors and book characters. But here are a couple:

Robbie (Atonement) - He seemed like a cute character
Mr. Darcy (Pride & Predjeduce) - Very nice character
Jasper (Twilight) - He can always make me feel better
Alec (Twilight) - Around my age, so he is easy to not like

Boys in books have made my expectations way too high.

These boys raised the bar:
-Jesse, A Rose for Melinda
-Ethan Longacre, The Angels Trilogy
-Jeremy Marsh, True Believer & At First Sight
-Wes, The Truth about Forever
-....I forgot his name, If I Have a Wicked Stepmother, Where's My Prince?
-Jay Gatsby, The Great Gatsby
-Henry DeTamble, The Time Traveler's Wife
-Edward Cullen, Twilight
-Dexter, This Lullaby
-Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice

There are more; I'm drawing a blank.
Note: The boys are listed in the order that I read them.

Although Jacob isn't perfect he makes my standards way to high! haha! GIrls are always looking for the perfect guy and in my opinion Jacob is my perfect type!! I wish he was real! how great would that be?? Plus i think that boys in books can be perfect in our minds due to the fact that even though the author describes them we all have our own different ways of pictureing them... you know? I just think that no guy i ever meet will compare to Jacob :D

Omg, I love Jesse from A Rose for Melinda. He's soooooo sweet and kind to Melinda. Childhood love grew into true love. The book was so sad too. I cried in every chapter almost.

Gah, yeah boys in books are better. It's mildly depressing to think about lol.

My list would be:

EDWARD CULLEN (i've seriously never been obsessed with a fictional character before. Sigh.)
Jasper Cullen (sigh - i'm really convinced SM shoud write something with him narrating)
The guy from Atonement. I hated the book, actually, but he was great.

I can't think of anymore other than Wesley from The Princess Bride, which I read a few times.

*sigh*....Edward.

Ooh, update: Kostos from the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants Books til things get crappy with Lena. LOL.
