Strange Compliments

Okay, so today I was at Subway and the lady behind the counter was probably in her mid-40's. She was like, "I really like your eyes. They're so pretty. They're.. angelic eyes. Yes, angelic eyes." She was kind of the construction worker type. It scared me. lol. Shocked

Do you have any weird experiences like that?

i was at the a college summer camp, and one of the guys there (he had to have been in his twenties, and i'm around 14 ..) anywayz ...

he had this habit of making comments on someone's personal appearance — never negative, mind you. But out of the blue he'd be like "oh, i like your shirt" or "that's a beautiful dress"

wow .. didn't know whether to be creeped out or flattered. He did it to everybody though, so that helped on the not feeling creeped out part ...

I was shopping for my formal dress and having a bit of trouble because I have a really thin torso. And so I went to a place to get a dress specially made. This lady is sizing my up and she said "You are just like a barbie". I chose to take it as a compliment. But while I may be skinny, I assure you I look nothing like a barbie. Not blonde, not *cough* curved and certainly not a plastic doll. geesh. It was weird.

Also, I was once wearing a tigers-eye necklace, just grocery shopping. And this lady came up to me and said she loved my necklace. BUT she then proceded to explain to me what tigers-eye stands for and what it means and its origins and powers and stuff. I was like....... ........thanks lady......I think.

I always get complimented on my eyelashess. I guess that's not strange.. but they usually come in the form of "I'M SO JEALOUS OF YOUR EYELASHES!! I HATEEE YOU!" or "I hate you. Your bottom lashes are longer than my top ones." etc,etc. Hahahaha.

UG! isn't that so annoying? when people complimet you by being JEALOUS?
I HATE you, because youcan draw, or because I like your hair, or I HATE you because of- sorry. I get all worked up about things like that

every time I recite in class, my classmate who's beside me would always say " Alex! you have an accent! I like it! recite again! I wanna hear it" okay. that was weird.

and just a while ago, I was looking for an eye liner and so an attendant approached me. and he said, "you have a nice eyes. very nicely shaped. and your lashes are long and it's naturally curled. wow. your eyes are so pretty!better get this brown one. come on it's on sale"
I was just smiling cause I didn't know what to say. he was really astonished. lol!

I always get told i smell good. Which wouldn't be so strange if they didn't insist on trying to figure out WHY i smelled so good. So basically ppl get all up in my bubble. Smell my cloths. Smell my hair till they finally decide which part of me makes me smell so good.
One time it was my hair. So i had to tell them what kind of shampoo i use.
Another time i got into the car and my friend told me i smell good. Like soap. lol.
Then another time in class this girl i sat by said i smell good. Like dryer sheets.
Anyways. If i ever get a compliment. 90% of the time its them telling me i smell good.

Apparently, I have beautiful hands. I was like "eh?". "Piano-player fingers, with pretty, long, tapered digits and pretty nails." <--I kid you not. I just sort of stared at her. I thanked her, trying to look unfazed.

Another time, someone accosted me and tried to get me to be a model for Abercrombie&Fitch. I was a little afraid. I mean, I'm by no means model-quality. I'm tall, sure, slim, maybe. But not typical model - I run around in hippie clothes, bohemian skirts, braided hair, flowing tops, barefoot when I can get away with it. It was just very weird.

And it's never fun when people compliment you by being jealous. It kind if rags on you.

I love reading the random compliments, like the barbie one, or Pel's eyes one. Haha. :p

I got complimented on my nails once. They weren't painted or anything, just normal. I just was like ,"Umm thanks?"

This guy I was going out with always used to tell me he liked my voice. I was just like, "Umm....thanks?"
I happen to hate my voice.
