I do... do you get koalas every where too?!?! I want a pet koala they are so cute!!!

I live in Ohio but I'm from Niagara Falls, New York
here are some notes I've been taking the past couple years I've lived here in the "midwest"

- Ben Waffle-burger (I don't know how to say his last name...) is the only reason to like Pro football
-Michigan and OSU is the most important game in the history of sports (still trying to figure out why)
-"at" is used at the end of almost every sentence
-Speeding and cutting people off is normal (what ever happened to common courtesy?)
-You don't think of Florida first when someone mentions Miami (Florida still comes to my mind)
-You're proud of your state fair but would rather go to Cedar Point  (it's really not that great)
-You call Peanut butter balls "buckeyes"
-You call Michigan "the state up North" because you're an OSU fan (grow up, people)
-"Vacation" means spending a day at Cedar Point or King's Island  (Disney World is better)
-School gets canceled if there's an inch of snow
-The local paper covers national and international headlines on one page but requires like 10 pages for sports (no joke)

gosh, I can't wait to leave this state

I'm from Switzerland and

- we don't eat chocolate and cheese fondue every day
- not everyone is a banker
- hardly anyone can yodel
- not every Swiss cheese has lots of holes in it ;)
- we don't live in the mountains milking cows all day
- not everyone wears a Swiss watch

;)

They're actually pretty far away from each other. They're both in Europe, but Sweden is one of the Scandinavian countries so it's much more in the north and it's much bigger than Switzerland. Switzerland is really tiny and right in the middle of Europe, surrounded by France, Italy, Germany and Austria.

I don't know about Sweden's neutrality, but Switzerland has always been known for being neutral ever since it has existed. ;)

1) Just because we live here, doesn't mean we live near the Grand Canyon
2) I have actually only been to the Grand Canyon once in my life- and that was just recently
3) Phoenix is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.- no tumbleweed here
4) I actually have seen tumbleweed rolling across the highway on my way to Tucson though
5) People here use cars, trucks and SUVs to get around, no wild west trains or cowboys on horses here
6) There really are ghost towns here, you just have to drive a bit to get there
7) Just because you see a bridge, don't assume there's water anywhere near
8) The pavement really does get mushy from being too hot
9) Monsoon season is really the best time of year, clouds make me smile :P
This is all so true! I'm from Arizona too! I think it would be so funny if we really did ride horses every where :P (Do people really think that??) And monsoon season really is the best time of year!

I'm from southern California and
-no, we aren't all surfers
-no, we aren't all blonde (i'm a brunette)
-no, we don't talk like valley girls
-no, we don't all live near the beach
-no, we aren't all rich like those people on TV
-no, we don't see movie stars on the streets
-no, we aren't all hippies
Some interesting differences between my vocab and others:
-In CA, it's soda, not pop. I got very confused when my Minnesota cousin asked it I wanted a pop. I was waiting for her to finish and say corn.
-I've been watching the BBC, and we call them french fries, not chips. And chips here are crisps in England.
-My friend's dad went to England, and he spilled ketchup on his pants and said, "Man, I got ketchup on my pants." Everyone looked at him weird and he figured out pants in England were underwear.
-My teacher went to Australia, where in a restaurant he said, "I'm stuffed." Everyone there gasped. In the USA, to be "stuffed" means to be full, but apparently in Australia it means that you just had sex or you were pregnant.
