Re: Languages
I know English, Arabic, and Kurdy. Learning Spainish. I regret that. I wish I'd chosen to learn French instead. Spanish is too much like English.

Re: Languages
I regret that I'm studying Spanish too... and i too wish I'd chosen to learn French but back then I didn't even want to think about learning French. But Spanish isn't like English... it's so much different.Jazziscool wrote:I know English, Arabic, and Kurdy. Learning Spainish. I regret that. I wish I'd chosen to learn French instead. "Alice!" Jasper's voice whipped, and then he was right behind her, his hands curling over hers.
She turned her face away from me, into his chest.

A sofa would be "El sofa"
Car is "el carro"
Inteligent is "intelligente"
Patio is "El Patio"
Impacient is "impaciente"
Rich is "rico"
...
You get my point. English and Spanish are not the same, but they can be similar sometimes.

Re: Languages
I have a friend who know Spanish and Italian and she used to make so many mistakes because they are very similar... but I still prefer Italian and any other language... I thought that Spanish is a beautiful language but it turned out it's not so nice... it sounds like you're shouting all the time. It's not melodious at allJazziscool wrote:Tell me about it.velvet_voice wrote:yes.. they can be very similar sometimes but the pronunciation is different and Spanish grammar is more difficult IMAO

Check this out:
"Hola!! Me llamo Jazziscool. Me gusta jugar football(soccer)"
Now check THIS out:
French: Bonjour ! Mon nom est Jaziscool ! J'aime jouer au football
or Italian: Ciao! Il mio nome è Jaziscool! Gradico giocare il calcio
*sigh*
I love the "je" sound in french. And the "c" sound in Italian.

Re: Languages
English is my primary language
I took Spanish for two years in high school (and therefore know enough to go shopping in Spain, lol)
I can read Latin pretty well (yes, i know it's a dead language but w/e)
and I know a few phrases in Italian.
That's about it. I really would love to really learn Italian, though (that I would know what my mom is talking about with my aunt and uncle!).

me: "So what does that make me?"
my friend: "A preppy, demi-goth nerd."
me: "That is such a paradox."

Re: Languages
That's easy, you can made yourserlf understood in english, that's what the rest of the europeans use when we visit France. Italian and Spanish are really similar, as they're similar to Portuguese because the three of them are romance languages (they evolved from latin), while English is a Germanic Language (from the Indo-European root) and with spanish being my mother tongue and after being learning english for many years i can assure you that in no way spanish and english are similarJazziscool wrote: One day I will visit Paris, and how will spanish help me then?
