Here's one of my poems. Sorry they are kinda emo, but that's usually when I'm in the poem writing mood.

Stay Away

Stay away...
It is better for both of us.
Less harm will come.
Less blood will flow.
More piece of mind.
Pain comes first,
but will eventually leave.
Just give it time.
The wound will heal.
I will move on.
My heart may ache,
but I will stay strong.
Just stay away...

Here's another one:

Don't Go

Don't go...
It makes me sore,
to know you won't come back.
That I will be alone.
To suffer by myself.
To cope with your disappearance.
Being gone forever.
Don't go...
I can't go on without your touch.
Without the thoughts we share.
Teh chemistry will die.
Never to return.
So, please don't go.
It causes me pain,
to know you will leave.
And I cannot stop you.
I can no longer smell your breath.
Feel the electricity.
We are already disconnected.
As though you already left...

I enjoyed both of these - they reach right into your chest and squeeze your heart.

This was written from the perspective of Carlisle writing it to Esme.

The Light of my Life

She’s the light of my life
She’s sweet whispers at night
She’s my wonderful wife
She’s the one I hold tight

She’s a sight to behold
She’s a beautiful girl
She’s much finer than gold
She’s my entire world

She’s the first one I see
She’s the last one I kiss
She’s so precious to me
She’s the source of my bliss

She’s my love and my friend
She’s my heavenly guide
She’s mine ‘til the end
She’s not leaving my side

She’s the one that I love
She’s my everything
She’s a gift from above and
She’s wearing my ring

I wrote this one about 9 years ago and never really thought about it again. Recently I found it and I liked it

Winter
I searched for my love for so long
Wanting his arms to loop around me
My search lay to rest one cold winter’s day
After the weary wandering of my soul
The winter melted into summers glow
And I wept for my love who had to go
He had melted the ice that filled my life
He consumed me like the ocean tides
Gently rocking me in the glow
He took my heart and striped my veil
Why now does winters chill prevail?

Well it’s rough but it’s a start

This was a response for Literature Circle for the book A Land Remembered by Patrick D. Smith. I really enjoyed the book.

Night on the Prairie

Dark and quiet is the night
But the warmth still fills the air
The moon shines and the stars are bright
Cattle, horses, men, all are there

There are terrors lurking in the night
But the prairie feels like home
In fact I might not feel quite right
If I could never roam

Mysterious sounds fill the night
But crickets lull me to sleep
Wolves will not stop calling till it is light
So I must not fall in to deep

Some people fear and loath the night
But I know better than they
The moon will watch over me as my spirit takes flight
And soon it will be day

I loved both your poems, bluemaria! Both very different from each other, but both excellent.

Thank you so much! I always rhyme in my poems for some reason. It's my style but sometimes it can be a pain. lol
Here is another poem I wrote... I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It's one I wrote a couple years ago. But here it goes...

Everything

He was my everything,
The one you wake up for,
The one you can trust,
The person who brought good times,
But good times never last,
Like constant reminder of pictures he left,
Always and Forever,
I whisper
His secrets I keep,
The words I do not speak,
No one can replace,
No one can take away,
For he was my one and only
My Everything
