Darren Shan, to me, was the greatest vampire (half, but same difference) in my knowledge of them.

What kind of vampire (read: evil creature of the night) would give up his life for the safety not only of his clan (vampires) but for humans and the other clan (vampaneeze).
SPOILER ALERT END
The Cullen boys because Edward is a stud, Emmett is f'n hilarious, and Jasper is a bomb-Why are we talking about a donkey? fighter.
Vancha is also a mix between Emmett and Jasper, but far darker in humour.
