I was born & raised in Ohio so I don't really have what you'd consider an "accent" atleast to people around here I don't. But it never fails that whenever I'm traveling people always ask me where I'm from because of my accent. I'm like ????? WHAT accent???

I do have a really bad habit of picking up on other people's accents. Especially if I've spent alot of time with them. It doesn't matter where I go...it just happens. lol

Question.
I'm Australian so I'm not too good with American accents.
But anyway, there's this one and I really, really want to know where it's from. I am like obsessed with it. haha.

It's like.. normal American (as far as my Australian ears are concerned =P ) except the o's are pronounced real English like.

Any ideas?

With an English accent. 'cause im cool. Being English probably helps too, I live like 40 mins away from Brum which is where my moms from. my dads a scouser but you cant tell except his vowels which i seem to have picked up.

Oh yeah. I DO NOT HAVE A BRUMMY ACCENT! Sorry, whenever i go to london people assume im from brum cause i drop the same letters but... its a different speech pattern, i don't exactly have a stourport accent either which... not many people do.

yeah tis vair confusing but heres an example of a sentence i'd say:

I'm goin daahn tawhn. yeah it looks horrible written out.

I'm not sure how I talk... my friends say I have a strange accent of some sort, but they aren't sure what.
I tend to mispronounce the word "bagel". *shrugs* Also, I say "opened" instead of "open". There's other things too, but I can't remember what they are.

I just have a normal Australian accent (as far as I know) but my friends little brother has this really weird kind of American accent, even though he's never been overseas in his life. His sister says its because he watches too much TV. Apparently he watched Monsters Inc. when he was about 5 and started calling coffee 'cawfee' and it just developed from there.

When I was little I always put on American and English accents when I played with dolls.

Well, I was born in London, moved countries rather a lot (every two years) until I was eleven, then lived in Ireland till I was nineteen, and moved to Western Australia where I've been for nine years. Both my parents sound sort of upper-middle class London English, and I think I still sound pretty English. The odd person here can't tell that I'm not an Australian, but I think thats from using Australian expressions rather than an accent. Plus, I've been told the more excited I am about something the more English I sound. And I use the word rather, which pretty much puts me squarely in the sounding English category. :)
