You are not alone Katwomankath.

I'm navarre, been on this forum since Sept. 2008. I'm 44 and still very young as far as I'm concerned.
Here's background - for what's worth:

Graduated 1982 at 17.
Married at 18 and left with the hubby to Air Force.
Had daughter at 22.
Violent marriage, drug & alcohol abuse and finally divorced him to live & not die on March 21, 1997 at 8:25 a.m. :D
Made single motherhood work and worked my butt off.
Daughter is married and has a daughter of her own - 4 mos. old.
I'm doing fine and enjoy coming to this forum daily to chat all things Twilight.
I live for these books - they give me a chance to live vicariously through the characters and enjoy the ride.

I hope my little bio does not make people uncomfortable, but there you have it, basically, in a nutshell.

Oh, and I would love for an "Edward" to come into my life and prove me wrong about relationships in general and men in particular. Yeah, I know, it's only a fictional fantasy. But still.... *sighs*

Navarre,
I'm glad to have you on board. I've got you by 4 years and there are days I feel every year... yet I still feel young in many respects.

Your bio does not make me uncomfortable at all. Everyone has had experiences in their lives that have shaped them and not all are pleasant. I respect you for all you have been though and accomplished. I would love to hear some of your stories.

I have two children a 16 year old male and a 12 year old female who are giving me the roller-coaster ride of a lifetime even though they are great kids. I didn't start having kids until my second marriage and in my 30's.

At the moment my husband is living in a different state due to a job change and the terrible housing market here in Southern California which has yet to hit where he is in Colorado. Not to mention some personal differences between the two of us. We are working on those differences and a bit of space has actually been helpful.

I have never been so taken by a book series before I read the Twilight books. The story though written for young adults made me feel and captured my attention. I actually have four generations in my family who have read the series my mom, my older sister, my daughter, and my sister's grandson.

I have been to book signings and the Breaking Dawn Concert Tour and enjoyed some meet ups with ladies from my area. I feel sad at the moment because it seems to me that Stephenie Meyer has pulled away from her fans and has closed down dramatically. I understand but it still makes me sad.

As far as an "Edward" at my age I think he is a bit more mature looking than the one in the recent movie. The man I am married to at the moment has been my "Edward" in my past at times and is working very hard to be it in my future (He really is very handsom). Who knows maybe it will all work out. If not, I think I am fine all by my self.

I was reading page one of this thread and noted that my year 1965 is actually the beginning of the Gen-X'ers.
I just saw "The 40 + thread and went with it. I does not really matter - I feel I fit here as well as the other thread, so I'll go for it, if you all do not mind. :)

Katwomankath, I have to agree with you on Stephenie. I really wonder what she plans to do, especially with the MS book. It was my understanding from an interview that she wanted people to not talk about it and then she can get back into her "zone" (paraphrasing here) and pick up and finish it - like in 2 years or something.
I hope it is not 2 years - I NEED that book ---- NOW!!!!!!

Anyway, going back to your post, I hope things work out for you and your 'Edward' and like you said, if not, then you'll be just fine - and you will. If I could do it, so can you. ;)

I look forward to posting here about our zeal for these books. Talk at you soon.

Navarre,
I know I am in the age described on the beginning of this thread but somehow I feel like I don't fit being at the tail end of the Boomers it is strange that it starts halfway through a decade leaving half the 40' in the lower category. There are so many stages of life you can be in in your 40's. I am in my later 40's but have younger children than some 40's so for me I have more in common with those younger than me at this time. :?

I would love for you to stay on this thread but will understand if you choose not to.

I agree with wanting the MNS book now. actually think I like it better from Edwards point of view. Because he can read other's minds it gives you more insight to what all of the characters are thinking. I do love my Bella's view too however. I got the feeling from Stephanie at the Breaking Dawn Concert that she was totally burned out with her fans. I hope she gets over it soon.

I would also like to see a sequel to the Host. There are so many places Stephenie can go with what she has started in that book. I loved it. Have you read it?

As far as my "Edward" is concerned I am flying to Denver to spend 6 days with him just the two of us traveling through the Mountains of Denver while he works. I leave tomorrow. What will be will be.

I warn you changing hormones in pre menopause does strange things to your emotions and thinking processes. which is what I believe to be the hardest thing on our relationship.

I plan on staying with this thread. It looks like I have a kindred spirit with these books in this thread.
I hate to hear that she appeared to be burned out, but after all the crap she took with Breaking Dawn, I can understand laying low for awhile.

BD was a fantastic book and I am currently re-reading it at this time. The people who freaked out over it, went waaaay to far and obviously did not understand the whole imprinting issue. I felt that if you read Eclipse, then you would have understood BD - no perversion. SM would not have written her characters in that light.

I have not read The Host yet, but I will. People have said it is truly a good book.

I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip with your husband.

Talk at you soon. And please join other threads - they are great fun.

I would love for you to join this thread, JoanneMaria. I just started today on this thread and it seems that it's been pretty dead for a while before I saw it. Katwomankath was the first one on it of late, then I started my posting and now you.

Maybe we can get this thread fired back up with all of us Twi-Hard lovers. :D

JoanneMaria,
I too would love for you to continue on this tread.

It is really funny because a lot of negative comments were made about BD but I really liked it. It seemed to me that a lot of the negativity came from people that had spent a lot of time discussing the books on line and had heard many theories as to how people thought it should go. There were many jokes online about story lines and some of them were actually in the book. My daughter and my sister also liked the book and neither of them had any discussion about the books online. They both were with me and the group of people from the Lex and the Dex who went to the concert together. They were disappointed with the comments the group were making. I would like to get more in depth but I need to go pack. Another time perhaps.

Thank you Navarre I hope it good trip also.

I may be on if I get my lap to packed and find Internet. Both of you take care and I will be back on when I can.
Thanks to both of you for sharing and joining.
