It's fine, but don't spoil TOO much.
She was there in the summer? Now, that's wrong.

So i thought I'd join the convo now that I've almost finished the series and have seen the film.

I really liked the movie as far as book to movie adaptations go. I thought it was fun and a bit more general audience friendly than the book, since there isn't much time in a film to explain who is who/what is what in Greek mythology. I have to agree that the one thing that killed me, since I'm not only a Percy book fan but a long time Greek mythology buff, is the Persephone in the Underworld during summer.

Spoiler bit - skip if you are trying to stay pure before the film:

I think they prophecy was left out so Percy didn't become a Golden Compass kinda deal. If they left it wide open for a sequel and it didn't do well it would be worse than it being partially concluded and not doing well in the box office. They might just keep the individual book plots for the films and disconnect them from the major plot then reconnect them at the very end in an "Ah ha so everything is connected" sort of twist.

To end this: I must agree with everyone that Logan Lerman and his cute-ness were indeed very much appreciated

I saw the movie a couple weeks ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Enough to buy the book.

I finished the book two nights ago. And I must say, I'm quite puzzled.

Maybe spoilerish:
It's as if the book and the movie are two different stories. You could see/read one and then the other and still enjoy both (unlike say Harry Potter where I was quite upset that they followed the story yet took out so much stuff). Does make me wonder how they'll do the next films, if they do them.

Reading Sea of Monsters now. The references to modern-day things amuse me.

On The Battle for the Labyrinth now, though it's taking me longer due to other interests (FF: XIII) and heavier work schedules.

i finally finished all 5 books! They are completely amazing; I dissapointed in myself for taking so long to find and read them. I've also gotten friends (a total of 6) and my sister to read them. My friends are all age range from 20 to 22.
A book is definitely good if it can span so many age ranges. :D

The character I most identify with, probably like most girls reading the series, is Annabeth since I'm analytical and try to solve everything with over organized plans.
Spoiler Bit: But as far as characters I enjoyed - Nico and Grover. I love the way Nico handles being the son of Hades and can still be witty. Grover has the funniest lines.

What are your favorite characters?
Anyone else have a favorite characters or specific favorite moments?
