Welcome back, Inspired, glad you've returned. Hope all is well with you and your monkeys! :D

Hopefully I'll be joining you in spirit seeing GI Joe tomorrow night. Otherwise hubby and I will see it on Saturday.

I thought that movie title was Bandslam. It's BlandSlam? :? Okay, I admit, I have no clue what it is about, I thought it was some tweeny band-esque movie. I still won't see it. I doubt it is my cup of tea.

And where would the fun in that be? Nah, the great thing about the gutter is being yourself! I am laughing at myself for not bothering to double check and just believe you! What does that say about me? :?

I bet the monkeys were adorable in the camp talent show. What did they do?

:o *does double take* INSPIRED!! Welcome back to the LEX!! Missed you!

Just wanted to be a smarty and be the first to say

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNA!!!!

So, with the sad news of John Hughes passing away... shall we share our favorite movie quotes and/or moments? Is that sort of a QOTD??? We haven't had one in FOREVER!

I'll start... (so many to choose from)... When I was in middle school, we had a 'bootleg' copy of 16 Candles. We were one of the few families that had those really early (top loading) VCRs. We (my sister and I) had friends over EVERY weekend and would watch the movie. I used to know the first 10 minutes of dialogue by heart. I still randomly think/say lines. Like the other day I said to my self "You don't want EVERYONE to know she's gotten her period!" *sigh* Great movies, thank you Mr. Hughes.

PS. JAKE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNA!!

Well yeah...Jake. *sigh*

And how did they get away with naming a character Long Duck Dong in 1984? Did you see that Molly Ringwald is married to a guy like 10 years younger than she is? Greek. Total cutie patootie.

Happy Birthday UNA!

Wow, bac, you are GOOD with your computer! I could so use help with my laundry, too... 8-)

My hubby wants to see GI Joe and wants me to go. It looks fun, but not really my kind of movie. I really want to see Julia and Julia, and I would love for him to go to that with me, but he gagged at the trailer. So, we kind of have a standoff, which means we will probably take the kids to a movie neither of us wants to see.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNA!

Big hugs to you today!!

*waves at inspired* Great to see you! I've been in and out myself...

John Hughes...man, Sixteen Candles was a generation-defining movie, well, so was Breakfast Club...aw, geez, they all were.

Pretty In Pink was the first non-christian music tape I ever owned and I wore it out! I love the soundtrack to PIP.

I always loved this bit in The Breakfast Club

Brian Johnson: Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain...
Andrew Clark: ...and an athlete...
Allison Reynolds: ...and a basket case...
Claire Standish: ...a princess...
John Bender: ...and a criminal...
Brian Johnson: Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.

Okay, can I just say that I begin my vacation (only a week, but that's okay) in 8 hours and 27 minutes? :)

Hi, Inspired!!! Summer's been hectic for all of us!

BAC~ *wipes brow* Yeah, I could seriously use some help with the laundry. My baby bump is starting to get in the way of my bending over to empty the washer. Sure, I could use my step stool, but if THAT guy is available, then I'll toss it!!

John Hughes movies. I'm in the dark here. I know of the ones you've mentioned, but I really don't keep up with movies associated by writer/director/whoever.

Molly Ringwald's hubby- yeah, Greek hottie...mmm! Those babies are so cute!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, UNA!!!!
