Just a quick post real quick as I need to put together the boy's basket and I'm meeting him for lunch since he had too much to do so he couldn't NOT to go into work today. Busy man.

Caryn-I understand what you mean :) I've definitely had no self control when it comes to TW lately :P I think it mostly made up my entire Christmas list! I'm definitely thinking a second viewing is in order and I'm considering getting the Hallmark TW ornament this year as well :)

Marielle-oh wow, a renovation project sounds intimidating..but I suppose in comparison it's not so bad!

Brenda-I get in bed when Jason does, I just don't fall asleep when he does :) I use the time at night to go onto Pinterest, Facebook, and here of course. I'm trying to get my sleep schedule to mirror his more on the weekends though.

Lynne-oh no!! Sorry about your dog, that's awful!

Okay, present wrapping time. I'll try and pop back in later, if I have time. Have a good day everyone!

Just a quick fly by to say hi. I'm slowly managing to get things done, but hubs came down with something and is home from work, so all the stuff I was hoping to have him do when he got home from work are now no-goes because he isn't up to it. But I did get the truffles made and in the freezer today. And I got all the prizes for games, all the party favors, got all the presents wrapped. Go me.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Lynne, did you get the results of the blood tests yet? And how's the dog?

Morning all!

The dog's still not well. When I let him in this morning (he sleeps on the back deck overnight) there was a blade of grass hanging out of his mouth. I'm force-feeding him water with an eye dropper. He won't touch his food and isn't interested in going for his walk. This is very unusual and very worrying. There's no doubt in my mind he'll be back at the vet today. It's just a question of how much it will all cost.

marielle - I love your dream! I hardly ever dream, and it's never something like that.

Caryn - thanks for the good wishes. I hope it's successful.

Sarah - yeah, it's not fun.

Songbird - no, I probably won't get the results until I go back to the doctor, unless there's something super serious wrong. They won't even have them for a few days.

Lynne: You shouldn't have him outside while he's still sick -- it'll only make it worse if he's eating grass and licking the deck all night. I'm not sure why he has to sleep outside, but could you try him in the bathroom instead? And as for food, plain chicken and plain rice is the best for when they're sick.

I hope this is PG13 enough -
I mean, it's all just the power of suggestion...
(sorry Sean and Austin!)

Now that should get the peeps off of facebook and back here!! (but how will they know to check?)

Amanda Beth
- You seem to be very knowledgeable about dogs. Do you have one?

Lynne
- I'm so worried about your little dog! That does sound like a very bad sign. Please keep us posted.Sorry about all of those needle pokes. At least you'll get some answers.

Sarah
- Awww! That's so sweet you're meeting your hubs for lunch today!

Caryn - Thank you for your kind comments regarding my book. I really do need your support to keep me going. Good luck getting all that paperwork and research done - if you can't do it, nobody can.

Songbird
- Go You!!! You're amazing! Sorry your husband is sick. I hope you don't get it.

Marielle - I just ADORE your dream!! So funny! I'd love to do a mini-HHHCon maybe next fall and get Ann Marie and Jaclyn to come AND Ms. Caryn can ride along with my in first class! 8-)

Sean - It sounds like much of your birthday plan is food related. Sounds like me! Food is fun.How are you doing today?

I'm off to Toastmasters soon - it's really fun. Tonight I'm not giving a speech; my job is "evaluator" and that means I evaluate one of the speakers. This is easy for me since I'm a teacher. Next week is another speech.

I've been staying up way too late that last few nights, so I'm not going to get back online when I get home.

See you tomorrow!

Lynne- hope everything is okay with your dog and test results. Poor you!

Song-hope your hubby feels better. Congrats on getting lots of stuff done!

Hubby loved his bday gift :) said it was one of the best things I've ever given him. We met for lunch at Panera today too and then he came home early and took a nap :)

Hi everyone.

I did call off work today, but I have no idea about the bereavement policy down their even after I called. I feel a bit better emotionally now, but I'm still no 100% physically. I still feel a bit sick and out of it. I think that part of it is stress, the other part is that I'm not used to the cold yet and the weather is still whacko out here--it's supposed to be in the 60s by the weekend for god's sake!

I might get some grocery stuff either after work or next Tuesday when my food card re-fills, and celebrate my birthday then. But as I said, emotionally I'm good, physically I'm better but not there yet, but I'm a helluva lot better than I was yesterday.

Caryn: Maybe I shouldn't have written when I was brassed off, feeling like vomiting, and having a sinus headache. Nonetheless, it was disgusting how the paps acted with Kristen and Rob. I almost lost my lunch when I read that someone asked Rob if he slept with Lindsay Lohan! Lindsay, IMO, doesn't even seem to be Rob's type of girl, and it seemed like something that was improvised and blurted out on the spot. That was disgusting in my view.

But, really, don't these people have something better to do, aside from show their a$$es and antagonize Kristen and Rob and other film or music stars? If they don't, well, then what kind of life do they have to begin with? Really, if my goal in life was to pester H'wood celebs or pop culture stars like that, then I'd have to say from my current POV that it's not a life I'd want. I know that I don't have much of a life, but I know that I enjoy what I have more than "that" life that I'm addressing, no matter the pay increase. I can name quite a few professions more beneficial to mankind than what these idiots do.

Just the whole mob scene is disconcerting, and something should be done about it. And Kristen and Rob getting a bit more respect from the media overall--especially them giving up molding them as Bella and Edward and the unfounded bashing that they do--would be nice too. It seems clear to me that these guys shout insults and salacious comments at them to try and get a rise out of them, and IMO the rag mags talk about them to get a rise out of their fans and cash in on people who'll believe such stories. That's disconcerting to me IMO, too. I do have to say that Kristen and Rob showed great restraint over the whole thing--it's not their first time dealing with these punks--and they acted better than I would. But there is a demand for such things, and if there wasn't one, this wouldn't even be an issue. It may be a small demand, but a profitable one.

I know that it's unfortunately part of the territory nowadays for them and other music and film stars. But the whole mob scene/caged animal deal, that almost makes me sick.

And speaking of sick, I hope that you can cope better with the bizarre weather that'll be happening this week better than I've been--just something else that's made me feel sort of like crap I think. I don't mind that it's cold--it sucks, but it's basically winter now, so it's to be expected. I just want some consistency, or at least a gradual transition, instead of the really cold for a few days and then unseasonably warm for a few days flip flop BS. I wish that Mother Nature would get her crap together LOL!

Susie: As mentioned at the top, I'm better, but I'm still a bit sickly. I think it was just that everything happened so quick after grandma passed away and he cold weather and just the weather in general being schizo. I do hope that this passes so I can go to work tomorrow, which will be early. I'll probably re-celebrate my birthday next week with that stuff, too.

Sarah: I did find that thing that I said that I'd send to you. I might drop a note on FB about it, too.

Christmas song: This is my contribution to you guys for Christmas, since a lot of the other contemporary/modern Christmas songs, including one by Eric Idle of Monty Python fame, aren't appropriate for this forum as far content. This is Lia, pre-Fallen One, and with a bad cold and not very good sound quality, but it's the best I can find, since there's no other videos of Lia or Fallen One doing any Christmasy songs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sT6Kro8NF0

Everyone: It'll probably be an early night for me, as I have work early tomorrow and I'm still sick. So no fan fic writing tonight most likely. Sorry, but it does give more time for ideas I guess. So that's about all I have for right now.

Holiday message: At this time of year, I do have to admit that I don't want much. My mom lost her job recently, and she still wants to give me birthday and Christmas money because my brothers got that stuff. I told her not to worry about it, though she still wants me to have it.

But I don't really want much for my birthday or Christmas--I'm pretty much happy with what I got, and for that I'm thankful.

I'll be back later, and hopefully not as ill as I am now :)

Hello everyone~

I hope all of you are well. I actually had today off work because the census (number of patients) at our skilled nursing facility is very low right now, and there aren't enough inpatients at our facility for all the therapists to treat and still remain 80% productive with direct patient care activities, which has pretty much become an official requirement of our national company. I didn't mind taking off an extra day this week (and the next if necessary) because we still have painting to do, Christmas shopping to finish, presents to wrap, etc. We finally finished painting the downstairs master bedroom and bathroom, moved in our bedroom furniture, and have been sleeping downstairs for more than a week. It's funny.....even though it's the same king sized bed we've had since we first married almost twenty years ago, it actually seems more comfortable in this "new" bedroom. I'm very happy with the colors we chose for these rooms (a pretty taupe color for the bathroom and master closet, and a rich mocha/milk chocolate color (??) for the bedroom. I found a lovely comforter for the bed (hubs could care less what it looks like  ), and we hung a new ceiling fan, light fixtures, and mirrors. Today I primed the master bedroom closet walls, shelves, and ceilings to prepare them for painting. If we can finish painting the closet this weekend....we can finally move our clothes out of the living room! :D It will almost feel like I have my house back to normal.

Songbird~ I hope your husband feels better soon, because I know how husbands usually are not model patients  , especially when you probably need his help getting ready for the birthday extravaganza this week.

Sarah~ I hope your husband enjoyed his birthday and that was sweet of you to meet him for lunch. My daughter and I absolutely love Panera and I haven't found a salad, sandwich, or soup that I didn't like. What does this year's Hallmark Twilight ornament look like? I've never thought to buy one in the past, but think it would be a great way to commemorate the series, now that's it's finished. I also stay up later than everyone else in my family on weeknights, and it's sort of my "quiet time" to Lex, surf the internet, read, etc. Hubs requries more sleep to function than I do, so he usually heads to bed around 9 or so on weekdays, but we always go to bed at the same time on weekends.

Caryn~ It seems like you are especially busy at work with the big project....hope all goes well. Will you and the family head to Disney for the big soccer tournament in January, as usual? I didn't watch the papz videos, but it's sad that Rob and Kris are still getting mobbed at airports and in public places and being shouted and screamed at so randomly. :? I guess I'd naively hoped the frenzy might die down just a bit with the release of BD2, but apparently not. I hadn't really kept up with the $$ numbers for BD2, and that's great news that it's having such a successful run, everywhere. I really hope they keep BD2 in the theaters well after the holidays. It's not as if there are ever that many great movie releases in January or February anywhere, and wouldn't watching Robward on the big screen one more time make a lovely Valentines' Day treat? :D I'll be interested to see if Summit does release some sort of extended editions for all the movies, and would consider purchasing it if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Brenda~ I'm glad to hear the first counseling session went well; keep us posted. Good for you keeping those creative juices flowing and working steadily on your fanfic. Didn't you have an entry in one of the canon tours last year? I'm almost positive I remember reading it and enjoying it very much.

Marielle~ Your dream was hilarious, and I love how well the HH was represented. Even Austin and Sean came to the Holland HH Convention--awesome! Chocolate, wine, and Rob....what more could a girl ask for? 8-)

Lynne~ Your dog's behaviors and lack of eating are concerning, and I hope you're able to get in to see the vet again and receive some reassurance. I also hope your blood tests were routine and that you receive good results. Not taking on any additional editing jobs sounds like a great idea so you can attempt to enjoy the holidays and focus on editing your own books.

Susie~ I loved the HumpDay gift you posted here.....it seemed to highlight every kind of Robporn imaginable! 8-) How was your ToastMasters meeting tonight? That's great news that your writing is coming along so well, and I look forward to hearing your coworker's thoughts about your memoir, especially since she is such an impartial observer with little knowledge of the Twilight saga. I hope you noticed I'm trying to stick to at least an every other day posting schedule here, unless we're out of town. Thanks to you for giving us the gentle encouragement we need to keep the Halfway House fires burning. ;)

Sean~ I'm sorry your birthday was such a sad occasion and hope you have the opportunity to celebrate it under better circumstances soon. I hope you get some rest and feel better, and am sure the stress of your grandmother's death as well as family issues have contributed to your symptoms.

Amanda Beth~ I think you had mentioned reading Cassandra Clare's books in a previous post. Have you read both of her series, and did you prefer The Mortal Instruments or The Infernal Devices? I actually may be a little more partial to The Infernal Devices, although it varies depending upon which book I'm reading at the time. ;) I loved exploring the more distant setting and time period, and all the unique challenges that growing up in that time and place caused for Tessa. It's so interesting how she released the books from both series on an alternating schedule. I look forward to rereading all the books consecutively in order of release when she's finished to see what clues I've overlooked.

Suzan~ Thanks for linking the "Rob is Bothered" Thanksgiving skit for us.....that was too funny. I liked that Jimmy wore something resembling Robward's peacoat in this skit. I actually checked out the Robisbothered.com website, and it linked back to all the "Rob is Bothered" videos at Jimmy Fallon's website. I caught up on a couple I missed, but still think the iPad sketch is my favorite. Jimmy's inconsistent accent and the "growling" crack me up every time.....guess that's supposed to represent Robward's vampiric menacing growl, or the fact that many of Rob's followers are cougars, like myself? I, too love Jimmy Fallon and his adorkable silliness. He always seems so approachable and sweet and funny....almost like the class clown or funny neighborhood kid everyone knew way back when.

At about 7.30 am, after looking sad and sorry for himself, Harry the dog went to his bowl and had a BIG drink all by himself (I had previously been using a dropper to put water into his mouth). He then had another drink about quarter of an hour later. I tried him with a little food, and he was hesitant at first, then ate it. I gave him some more an hour or two later, and he ate it with no problems. Now he seems pretty much back to normal. I'm guessing the problem must have worked its way out of his system. So that's a relief! And my visit to the dentist proved uneventful. He cleaned my teeth and said there were no cavities. Phew!

Susie - in looking at the video you posted, I was reminded of his interview on Ellen where they discussed Rob's tendency to not do up his pants properly!

Tracy - yes, I've nearly finished going through the typeset version of The Heir. There are quite a few changes, though. I know I'll never be able to read it without finding something wrong with it.
