Happy Saturday!
Love the smiles! :D

I’ve been meaning to come back sooner, although I guess four days is a lot better then two weeks already. ;) It’s just that I’ve been really upset the last few days. I had a “getting-to-know-you” interview sort of thing for the SBB program I want to start in February. (For those of you who don’t know or don’t remember; it stands for Science Based Business. It’s a specialisation for my master’s degree.) It turned out to be more of a job interview! And the lady there basically told me that I would never find a job in business. I can take the course, they can’t technically refuse students. But according to them it would be completely useless. All because I’m more of an observer than a person domination the discussion. It got me really upset. Telling me I can’t do something just because I’m a little shier than most people… That really ticks me off. Who the hell are you to tell me I can’t do something based on one conversation!? And being shy doesn’t mean I have nothing to say. I make myself heard when I need to! I just like to think and take my time forming an opinion instead of jumping headlong into the heat of a discussion. Ugh! I could make this into a three-page rant, but I won’t. I’ve calmed down since the conversation and I know I can do this. It’s what I want to be doing and I’ve never been this sure about it. I’m not about to waste away doing some job I’m not happy with just because she says I can’t do what I want. There. I’ve been battling my shyness since I was about 12. I’ve come a long way since then and I’m still improving every day. It may not always seem that way in my personal life, but when it comes to school and work; I do pretty alright for myself. Just yesterday, I was demonstrating a practicum on the “Open Day” for high school kids who are considering doing my study. I’ve never talked so much to so many strangers in one day in my life and I actually had a blast! It was so much fun answering all of their questions about the study and the university. I was pretty proud of myself at the end of the day for doing so well! Anyways… I’ve talked about myself enough. On to the posts!

Lynne and Sarah – There’s actually a movie coming out about zombies? Haha, that’s so funny! Have to go look for it later. Thanks!

Sean – Referring to the LAX situation: Maybe the airport has no control over what people do outside the doors of the building. That’s a public area (I’m assuming), they can’t forbid people to take pictures there. As far as I’ve seen the pictures are always of celebrities walking from the airport to the car or vice versa or pictures taken through the windows of the building. Granted, I don’t go looking for that kind of stuff, so I don’t know that much about it. But that’s what it seems like to me. As long as they’re inside the airport security can help them, but as soon as they step outside, they’re on their own. It’s definitely a sad and completely nuts situation though.

Susie – Seems like your book is really coming along. Can’t wait to read it. Keep up the good work! Your HumpDay gif… About did me in! :swoon: Have you been to the concert already? How is your daughter doing in Argentina? Marielle, Susan and me actually talked about possibly getting together in Februari or after. No definite plans or anything. But it would be fantastic if you and Jaclyn (and Caryn and Ann Marie) could come for a little HHHcon!

Lynne – Ugh, I hate blood tests. One time I had to go in for an allergy test and they took eight vials. Eight! It was horrible having the needle in that long. I’m glad your dog is alright again.

Marielle – What a funny dream! If only that could happen in real life… I actually had a HH dream last week, but that one wouldn’t be helpful in real life at all. I dreamed that Caryn had her own little shoe store and she was showing me around. One wall had all her official school class photos and Tonise was in all of them. They were best friend all throughout their school years. And then she showed me a really cool seat that could elevate you to the top shelves… :? Totally random. LOL
I wish I was almost done! No, my internship is over in January. Then in February I will start SBB. Starting next week until May I will be doing a course every Thursday evening. And after that I still need at least one more course and a six-month internship. I’ll be done hopefully somewhere between January and July 2014.
That certainly is quite a huge situation to have to deal with. I hope you figure everything out soon and can have some peace of mind again. Moving into a new home should be a fun experience!

Susan – I hope your husband is feeling better. Is it one of your kids’ birthday? Hope it’s a fun party.

Tracy – Did you finish the painting? It sounds like you’re really satisfied with the results of all your hard labour. Oh, the iPad one is brilliant! Those are exactly all the reasons why I don’t need an IPad, haha. I always tell people those exact things when they ask why I don’t want one. My answers to your questions:
~What type of car did Edward and Bella drive in BD Part 2? It’s the same one as in part 1, the new type Volvo S60 I believe. Finally the right model, but now the color is wrong. *eyeroll*
~Is Nessie able to jump high because of her hybrid strength and speed? Yep, although admittedly it looks a lot like a flying superman, haha.
~During Charlie and Bella's reunion scene, when Charlie initially but briefly breaks away from Bella during their hug, was he responding to the unusually cold temperature of her skin? Never even noticed that! I remembered being peeved that he didn’t have any reaction to being that close to a vampire, even if it is his daughter. Must. Go. See. It. Again!
~What song is the human in New Orleans singing just before Garrett attacks him? I'm guessing it's a Beatles song in light of Emmett's and Garrett's jokes about the Second British invasion. Dunno. But then The Beatles were a little before my time…
~Do Renesmee's (or Mackenzie Foy's) hands look disproportionately large when she touches someone's face to convey her thoughts, or is it just me? I agree with the others here that it only was really noticeable with the baby.
~Who are the two other nomads (male and female) shown standing near Peter and Charlotte? Ow, I knew this… I thought they were Mary and Randall. I totally cheated and looked them up on The Lex blog page.
~What small item/statue did Alistair pick up when he was talking with Bella while she packed Ness's backpack? No idea! Must. Go. See. It. Again!
~I've always assumed that Sue knows "everything" because of her history with the wolves....she had to know about the impending confrontation with the Volturi to understand the importance of why she must get Charlie to leave town. True, or not true? Yep, she became an elder after Harry died.
~What was the inscription in the locket Bella gave to Renesmee? Was it "more than my own life," or something similar? “Plus que ma proper vie.” It’s French. You translated it exactly right.
~Does Tanya have a special gift, or was she simply dramatically ripping Caius' face apart with her bare hands while Kate shocked him? No, she doesn’t have a special power. That was all vampire strength and one of the most gruesome parts of the battle. On my first viewing I couldn’t even look when I realized what she was about to do… Can’t believe that got a PG13 rating. *shudders*

Tonise – I’m so sorry you’re sick. Hope you feel better soon. Lots of rest!

Brenda – Oh, WfE Rob! My favourite! Well, actually it’s kinda hard to pick a favourite, but WfE Rob is definitely somewhere at the top of the list. I think I have to go watch the Fallon video again… I didn’t even notice the moment you’re referring to. Too mesmerized by Rob giving himself a shower and his fascinating wet hair… *stares off in distance*

Caryn – Very interesting theory about the fire. I thought he wasn’t actually touching the fire. There was still a small space visible between his fingers and the flames. That was my theory. But yours sounds much more plausible. I like Amanda’s explanation too.

Have to go to bed now. It’s getting quite late… Sorry to everyone I missed. See you next time! Bye!

Amanda Beth - yes, it's a wonder he didn't do that to all the Volturi, or made the fire that they had created to burn their victims turn on the Volturi themselves. Or perhaps just put it out. Why didn't he save Carlisle? Benjamin's power raises lots of questions.

Suzan - I'm sorry to hear that that woman made you feel so down. It sounds like she's just a bit narrow minded to me. Just go out there are prove her wrong!

Hi everyone.

Now I have some broth and noodles to use up my old turkey drippings to make some soup later tonight. Probably would be great for a colder night, but its something that I've been wanting for a while.

And it's good reading weather, and on Monday, it's supposed to be about 65! Not great that it's supposed to be raining, but it's better than freezing!

And now from the "they don't make 'em like that anymore department", Caryn and I were talking and joking around about that Mariah Carey video I posted yesterday, and it did make me realize short of how some "old" things are special, just because "they don't make 'em how they used to". Disney cartoons apply, like the stuff from the '30s and '40s. Those Guyver OVA cartoons from the late '80s and early '90s that were largely hand-drawn animation cells that were filmed is much the same thing.

Well, this is a big time "back to the past" moment. It's taken many years, but over 15 years after the last known flying example was destroyed in an accident, in the past September, a de Havilland Mosquito took to the air again after years of careful restoration. Why did it take years? Coz' they don't build 'em like they used to! LOL! The art of building a plane like the Mosquito was largely lost years ago after the DH Vampire and Venom jet fighters (which used wooden front fuselages) left production in the mid 1950s. It's all rivets, aluminum, and carbon fiber now, not plywood, balsa wood, and wood craftsmanship. But, fortunately, that's coming back in the interest of restoring Mosquitoes, Vampires and Venoms to an air-worth state, and out of interest to build a DH Hornet fighter, since no completed examples are known to exist, period.

Even if you're not a fan of WWII era aircraft, you can still sit back and enjoy this, as it's an example of a lost art returning in today's age:

Some good Twilight related news for you guys--BD2 is no.1 at the box office for the third weekend in a row in the US, and is still setting records in other markets and will most likely be the biggest money maker of the franchise, and by some way, too. Just a FYI if anyone wants to pay attention to these statistics :) Can someone say biggest hit out of all the films :) It seems that everyone did their job, and are getting rewarded for it.

Well, soon I'll be making those noodles and then I'll probably be off to bed. I might try and write some fan fic tomorrow night, as well as look up some World War II stuff.

I'll be back later :)

Goodness, it's been quiet here overnight. That's the first time that's happened since the movie came out. Are things settling down again?

I'm off to work for Rochelle today. I'm hoping to get all the corrections done for The Heir. I'd better hurry up, as I'm only going to work at her office this Monday and the following Monday (on Friday I work from home and can't do typesetting corrections then) before we break for the year.

Only a fly-by post from me....but at least I come bearing gifts :D

There's that swagger and strut I loved in Cosmopolis.....
Oh my word....this brings me to my knees :swoon: And there's plenty more Cosmopolis love where that came from. It looks like they've got screencaps of nearly every scene over at Robsessed, even some of the less PG-13ish scenes. 8-)

Here's a picture of Rob with actor Richard Gere at a lunch for the movie Arbitrage....
How cool is that?! I think Richard Gere has made interesting choices in his career, and is somewhat underestimated as an actor....I loved him in Unfaithful and Chicago, and read good things about the movie, Arbitrage.

I hope to be back later tonight to make a proper post. I'm finishing up most of the painting for the master bathroom closet this afternoon, and have my son's basketball game and daughter's basketball practice, along with dinner, laundry, and a little Christmas shopping to accomplish as well. Hope all of you have enjoyed your weekends.

I checked in again, Lynne, but didn't post. There are so many conversations going on, and I'm not quite caught up yet. Also, I've been in a writing sort of mood today & took advantage. Oh, and I found a great CD/MP3 album that's been helping things along. If anyone else didn't purchase the original scores to the first four films yet, this album has the highlights performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. I really like it. :)

I also popped in this morning but didn't post- I worked all weekend :) it's been so busy!

Not a whole lot from me, other than I've spent far too much time trying to get get last years TW ornament but it's going past $15 which I don't want to pay right now. Maybe after Christmas at this rate! And that's fine, as long as I get it :)

I'm also getting overwhelmed with how busy things are getting at the store and at home...just makes me tired.

Virginia- I have all the scores already but that sounds cool :)

Lynne- how long do you guys break for?

Hi everyone.

I think that most of you will be happy to hear that BD2, as of last night, has made over $700 million dollars world wide, and that's the biggest pull of the franchise.

Also, as tonight will be one of the last warm nights of this year, I'm gonna try and get started on chapter 2 of my fan fic, and I'll also spend some time in bed reading some of my WWII stuff and eating my noodles.

Other than that, my night hasn't been very exciting.

I'll be back later :)

Hi all~

I hope everyone had good weekends. I mentioned on Facebook that hubs and I saw the new James Bond movie, Skyfall. We both enjoyed the movie a great deal, with lots of high speed action sequences worthy of being seen on the big screen....as well as Daniel Craig's rather chiseled chest. 8-) But more than that....this movie explores the history and origin of the character in an interesting way, and is somewhat of a throwback to the James Bond movies of old, and what made the franchise so popular in the first place. Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, and Javier Bardem were excellent.

Sarah~ It certainly can get overwhelming as we draw ever closer to Christmas, with all the things that need to be accomplished. You work at a Hallmark store, or did I dream that up in my own head? I can imagine how hectic it must be this time of year. I try to keep a running list of gift ideas and recipients for whom we need to purchase, and check off the gifts and edit the list as necessary, and check off again as the gifts are wrapped (not that I've wrapped anything yet, of course. ). Good luck obtaining last year's Twilight ornament, and thanks for linking the pictures of the recent ornaments.

Marielle~ Oh hon....I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all those stressful financial issues right now, and that the offer for your house wasn't what you hoped it would be. Good luck navigating through those muddy waters. We'll be sending positive thoughts and vibes your way that the rest of the process proceeds as smoothly as possible.

Mel~ I enjoyed reading your BD2 review and am glad you liked the movie. It is very sad that there will never be another movie to wonder and speculate about, and to discuss afterwards. :(

Brenda~ Are the dolls you purchased for the girls part of your Christmas shopping? Good luck with your fanfic writing. Thanks for taking the time to answer the random questions I posted. I don't know why I'd forgotten that Bella's skin would also feel hard and unyielding to Charlie, and she might even smell different....probably because those types of things have been difficult to convey in the visual medium of the movies. Has any formal decision been made whether or not to add to the Pet Menagerie? :D

Caryn~ I enjoyed following along with the intriguing conversations about how the campfire might (or might not ) have affected the vampires. Did you ever mention what item you'd referred to that was "hidden" in the campfire scene.....was it the tent?

Ginnie~ Hope you and the kiddos are well, and that you're enjoying your editing work, as well as working in the bookstore part time. What are you writing, pray tell? Is it fanfiction or some other original work, if you don't mind me asking. I checked out the link you posted to the Twilight movie scores by the Prague Philharmonic, and love it! I own all the movie soundtracks but never purchased the scores, although I did buy the piano sheet music for Bella's Lullaby, A Thousand Years, and Turning Page. Do you know if it's available on iTunes, or just Amazon? I could check for myself, but we have yet to download iTunes on our new laptop. I'm glad you were able to see BD2 with Christina and that you both enjoyed the movie. We miss you too and are glad to hear from you, whenever you have a chance to check in with us. ;)

Amanda Beth~ I'm glad you enjoyed the movie Silver Linings Playbook and hope I have a chance to see it myself. It sounds as if it will eventually be nominated for several Oscars, and it's certainly received stellar reviews.

Jaclyn~ Thanks for answering my random BD2 questions. Did you enjoy the movie, Silver Linings Playbook? I loved Bradley Cooper way back when, on the TV show Alias. I'm so happy he's become such a success in Hollywood.....good for him!

Lynne~ How was work, and were you able to complete the necessary corrections for The Heir? What exactly are typesetting corrections, and why can they not be done from your home? Do they need to be on a certain computer that is at Rochelle's?

Sean~ That's such great news that BD2 was the #1 movie again for the 3rd weekend in a row....thanks for keeping us updated. I hope it outperforms all the previous movies, and all the Twilight naysayers can just go suck it. I'd forgotten how you used to post frequently about various military aircraft, and how they might have divebombed the Volturi, or the crazy papz, or even the Summit execs, when they were acting particularly money-hungry and greedy. :D

Suzan~ Good for you for not letting that lady who interviewed you get you down. Maybe she thought she was somehow being helpful, but you know yourself better than anyone. I think you'll find that especially when you're interested and so invested in a particular fiend or branch of study, you'll be able to communicate about it more easily and openly. Good luck as you finalize things to get ready to begin your SSB program in February. Ah yes.....the iPad sketch is my favorite of Jimmy Fallon's "Bothered" Skits....probably because it's so spot on about how ridiculously expensive the iPad is, and everyone seems to think it's the eighth wonder of the world. When Jimmy/Rob tries to put it in his pocket..... Thanks for answering all my random BD2 questions. Surely they could've made Nessie's "jump" look a little more realistic....no wonder Irina thought she was an immortal child. ;)

Hello to Susie, Songbird and anyone else I've missed....
