Hi everyone.

I'm still not home yet, but hopefully soon that'll happen.

I have some Top Gear to watch tonight and some other stuff, too. I just have to figure out what I want to do until then. Which, that shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry that I'm being brief in writing today, but I don't really have a ton to write about and today's been very uneventful.

I'll be back later :)

Hey there!

Not much on for me today. Grocery shopping, blogging ... that's about it!

Okay, so apparently my post didn't post..thankfully it wasn't that long so here we go...

Today was a pretty good day-I only had one clean (two of my clients were sick), which was nice because I think I have a bit of whatever is going around so this doesn't surprise me! Oh and Katniss got a clean bill of health from the vet, thank God! Her bladder stones are completely gone, so she's allowed to have catnip again but we've decided she can't have table scraps anymore because I really don't want to go through this again! It was so stressful, but it taught me a lot about responsibility.

Lynne-I gained about 10 pounds before my wedding and barely fit into my wedding dress, ack. Then I gained another 20 after we got married because I continued to eat like he did..he's being really supportive of my diet though since he does eat pretty healthy. He said I can go shopping for new clothes once I hit my goal weight, which is what's keeping me motivated.

How are things going with The Reign?

I am ready for spring break next week! It will be nice not to have to do school runs, though I suspect my house is going to be a dump at the end of next week. It's hard enough to keep it in order when the kids have school during the day...if they are home the whole day, I just won't worry about it until they go back. Maybe it will be nice weather and they can play outside!

This weekend was beautiful weather so we took the kids to a nearby castle to feed the deer and walk through the forest, then we took them to a kind of petting zoo in a wooded area. There's a nice play ground there and they built a hut between some trees. Lots of fun! We were all worn out when we got home!!

My BIL is FINALLY starting to feel better, so we're planning to go out to the restaurant that we had planned to go to on Jan. 3rd, but couldn't because he was in the hospital. The kids are super excited! And this week is report card week. I am anxious to see how they are doing, and then in a couple of weeks we go talk to the teachers about them.

Sarah
, so glad Katniss got a clean bill of health! What a relief for you!!
Mmmm...Olive Garden...I love that restaurant! So good!! I wish we had them here. I guess there's one in Leiden, but that's far away and I looked at the menu and it's COMPLETELY different than it is in the US. But I don't blame you for not being able to do weight watchers when you went there!!
Huh...I don't think I've ever heard of that series.

Sean
, sorry you're not home yet! Did they get the plumbing done?

Lynne, did you have the right day for working?
That cake sounds amazing. What exactly is mud cake?

Hi everyone.

I wanted to post this last night, but I went to sleep instead, but I do have some good news.

Hopefully, for sure by the end of this week, I should be back home. We got the water pipe thawed at our house yesterday, so hopefully in a couple of days I can be back at home.

Other than that, there's not much on TV tonight, so I'll have to find something to do, but at least I'll hopefully be back home soon.

I'll be back later :)

Sarah reminded me that I hadn't mentioned the latest update on The Reign, which I finally managed to ask Rochelle about on Monday.

It turns out that she can't afford to have this other editor edit it, so she's going to do the final edit herself. This would be okay if it wasn't for the fact that she's so insanely busy, although she says she'll have to do it soon because it's for a May release. At the moment we're frantically running around trying to make sure all our March and April releases are ready to go, and running out of time with them. It's hugely busy, and it's time to pay royalties, so she can't afford me for two days a week just now either. It's back to one, so getting all my work done becomes even more of a challenge.

This means that I'm not working for her today, but for our business instead. I'm getting tired of all the to-ing and fro-ing that goes with working for her. I never know, from one week to the next, what I'm going to be doing.

Sarah - yes, living with a man that doesn't put on weight is a trap! When we first got married I started eating like Hubby did, and quickly learned it was not a good idea! While we still eat the same things, my meals are smaller than his. I'm glad Katniss is doing better. :)

Susan - mud cake is really hard to describe. It's sort of like sponge cake texture, but is much richer and heavier than a sponge. It's yummy! That nearby castle sounds lovely. I'm glad BIL is now well enough for you to keep to your original plans.

Hi everyone.

I just found out about an hour ago that I should be going home tomorrow for sure. Of course, that does mean that I don't know what time tomorrow I'll let everyone know how I'm doing because I don't even know if we still have internet at home and because I'm probably going to be busy all day getting ready to go home and cleaning up at home all day.

Hopefully, though, I should be able to let you all know how things went in a day or two.

I'll be back later :)

Hey there!

I'm off to swimming lessons at Little Man's school today. Thankfully, it's not quite as hot as last week, but it's still reasonably warm, so it should be good!

Hey all,

Not much to report on my end other than Jason pulled a muscle in his back over the weekend and is finally on medication for it, poor guy! I'm still battling a bit of a cold and have been busy with work this week and trying to take care of the house. I never realized quite how much he does around here until he wasn't able to help out as much! Craziness.

Song-I grew up reading series like these from the specialty Christian bookstores, including a lot about horses as a child :) This particular series is about a senior in college so I still kind of relate.

I'm pretty sure Pinterest has recipes that mimic the OG bread sticks, which are the best thing EVER :) I'm glad your BIL is doing better!

Lynne-oh that's stressful :/ sorry you have to wait on The Reign like that!

It's definitely easier to control my portions now that I'm eating differently..we don't often eat the same things unless we plan it in advance..I want to get better at cooking for us though!

It's report card day! I love report card day! We are having a dessert day for dinner. It's a report card day tradition. I'm really anxious to get the reports...the kids are excited, too. And Bug is super excited that her class is doing a reading competition after the vacation next week. They each get to choose a book and read a page or two out loud to the class. She has already picked out her book and the two pages she is going to read. She's been practicing her voices and everything...it's soooo cute!
Tomorrow is the Carnaval (Mardi Gras) celebration at school and the kids get to dress up. Bug is going to be a popstar and she's practicing her autograph signing for when she's a REAL pop Star. MM wants to be a knight, but he's not much of a dress up kid...last year he didn't want to dress up and the year before that I sent his costume with him in case he changed his mind when he saw all the other kids dressed up. But he's just not a dress up kid. The only reason he wanted to be a knight was to bring his collapsible light saber sword, but the letter the school sent home to parents said no weapons allowed, even toy ones. So he can't bring the sword...I got out his knight costume but I don't know if he'll wear it or not.

Lynne, sorry about the work situation. I hate not having a set schedule. I work as a temp so I understand that uncertainty from one week to the next. It's not fun! Especially when you have small children who have school things and activities and whatnot. Hope The Reign is edited soon!!
Maybe I'll have to look up recipes for mud cake! Sounds good!

Sean, I hope you get to go home! I know you expected to be home already a couple of weeks ago when the electricity was sorted. It must be frustrating to have it put off.

Sarah, hope Jason feels better soon!!
Good for you with portion control!! I gained weight when I moved here because we lived with my in-laws and my MIL is horrible about cooking healthy food. She cooks everything in butter, every meal is high carb/high fat and she has a tendency to just put stuff on your plate without asking if you'd like more. She's better about that now, but she insisted the Dutch were much healthier than Americans and that I would lose weight by living in the Netherlands and instead I gained 50 lbs.
