Oh, day of rest, how I love you!

Sean, I'd suggest next time bringing food with you...fruit or a sandwich or something so that as soon as you are done, you can eat right away, and it's something healthy and delicious. How often do you have to get your blood drawn?

Lynne, I can't imagine a book store owner who doesn't read. Maybe they don't read every book in their store, but I'd think they could make time to read a few in a year from Authors wanting to do signing. At least I would...oh how I'd love to work in a book store! Talk about a dream job!! And I prefer non-smutty romance books. (hence my not reading 50 shades)
I know...I'm so excited...of all the things I could win, books are definitely in the top 3 things I'd like to win...maybe even THE top! And the fact that I get to CHOOSE which books I get...I am in heaven. I'm betting God has a REALLY good library.

Quieter day for me today since my sister took my car to see her mother in law and some of her friends. I spent yesterday hanging out with them, introducing my sister to the wonders that is Duck Dynasty. Jason and I even found some time for a date last night. Of course, he's off watching football with his Dad but at least I don't have to sit through it ;)

Song-Was your trip good? I love winning stuff :) $50 to Amazon is exciting...! I can only imagine the happy feelings you have about books, A friend of mine borrowed Divergent on Friday and is already half way through it. She's completely hooked (if that helps your decision at all ;)

Lynne-I'm still hammering out the storyline but it's nice just to be actively writing again. I think about you and how much you read (you too, Song), so I've been also trying to read more and have even picked up some Jane Austen. I'm loving the new Kindle app on my laptop.

Have a good day everyone!

Hey everyone!

I'm working for Rochelle today, probably from her place, which I wasn't anticipating. At least it will be some company!

Songbird - having once worked in a bookshop myself, I know that you don't always feel draw to read every book. Maybe that's the real reason why they've been rejecting me lately. Maybe they don't like that kind of book.

Sarah - you go, girl! Hope you enjoyed the football.

Hi everyone.

I have plans for some fan fic and looking up some stuff later tonight. I'm also planing on finishing up some VG stuff tonight, too.

Today has been kind of a slow day. Mom got here early, so I had to get up early and show her some stuff. Then I looked up some stuff and read for a while before getting some more sleep.

Another of my friends got engaged recently and today announced that she's also pregnant. So that's good. I'm still waiting to hear details of my outing with some friends next week. I'm still waiting for a day and time. At least I shared my plans yesterday/today, just waiting for a response.

EDIT: OK plans for the outing have been finalized. Tomorrow I leave for it at about 4-5. Library, bank, dinner, bookstore. That's the plan now :)

Songbird: I guess now that my doctor wants it done about every three months or so, or at least that's what I remember him telling me.

I'll be back later :)

Morning all!

I'm going to a conference for Rochelle today. I'm going with Sally, the other girl who works for us. I'm hoping to connect with a few booksellers and learn a bit more about marketing. I hope it goes well!

Hi everyone.

Sorry for not writing anything last night. After my meeting, I just read some of the stuff I bought and went to bed.

Anyways, the outing went well. I definitely need to do another one soon. I'll be going out on a new one, I just don't know when. I went with a couple of friends to Barnes & Noble and bought some stuff and had dinner. That's basically all we did.

I had a couple of good days at work the past couple of days, though I won't be there for too much longer. I've accepted a promotion to do document scanning there. Only negative is that I don't know when I'll be getting started. I've heard November at this point. At least it means more hours and more money, and I don't have to worry about answering phones and doing tons of shredding.

Right now, though, it's hotter than hell where I'm at and insanely humid. I'm only on the laptop right now because I have to catch up on stuff from yesterday. And at least the WEC race from Circuit of the Americas will be on Fox Sports 1 live and in it's entirety.

Maybe when I'm feeling a little bit better I'll write more, I also have plans for fan fic and gaming tonight, and tomorrow, since I don't work tomorrow.

I'll be back later :)

Took my three year old niece to the fair yesterday and had a lot of fun. It's different, going with a child since you're pretty much at their whims for the day. Surprisingly, she was pretty good and let us enjoy looking around and watch most of a juggling act. Of course, this all happened while she was downing copious amounts of sugar but didn't have a meltdown. I'm going again with Jason next week as a date, which is always fun :)

Lynne-thanks for the encouragement. Do you ever have days where nothing comes to you to write? I'm trying to write a few paragraphs a day at least, if not more. I try to write in my head (is that weird?) when I'm cleaning, since my mind wanders constantly.

Song-how are you catching up on your sleep schedule? I saw you guys are having HH-Con in Europe, how exciting :)

Finished watching the BBC version of P&P with Colin Firth today and I have to say I like the Keira Knightly version better. I know, I'll probably be shot for saying so, because most people think the BBC version is far superior, but I like the casting and locations better in the other one, and while both scripts are pretty close to the book, I get more of the wit in the Keira Knightly version. I'm sure I'll watch the BBC version again, but probably not as often since it's a LOT longer and I rarely have so much time.
I'm soooo tired today. I worked Monday evening until 9:30 and biked home in pouring rain. They are doing construction, so the path I usually take is ripped up and I had to take a detour that goes all the way around and doubled my trip. I was biking with another girl from work so neither of us had to bike in the dark alone, and she goes REALLY fast and I could hardly keep up with her. So I was pedaling for all I was worth, and by the time I got home my legs were JELLY. I showered but my body temp didn't want to regulate, so I was up late. At least I got in my cardio for Monday! Then yesterday I had choir and I noticed the last few times I've biked anywhere that it's really hard to pedal. So I ended up adding some air to the front tire when I got to choir and that seemed to help a bit on the way home, but my portable pump doesn't work as well as the regular one, so I need to add more, but as it was pouring rain again when I came home last night, I didn't bother. So another night of going to bed late...but again, I got in some cardio. Bug had a friend come to play today and they were really good and I didn't have to do anything, so I watched P&P on my computer and I was struggling to stay awake. I think it might be an early night.

Sarah, were you at the fair all day? My kids never last long even at the carnival. I can imagine you having to ply your niece with sugar to keep her happy!
Good for you writing again! I've never really written anything that wasn't for school or speech and debate, but I've thought about writing books or something, but in the end I think I'd rather read them than write them. How are you doing with Austen?
Yeah, I'm looking forward to HH-con here, though I won't be able to spend as much time as I'd like because I have rehearsals for choir that weekend. But it will be lots of fun to meet everyone!

Lynne, heavens no, I don't suppose they'd want to read EVERY book...and maybe you're right that they don't like that kind of book. Though, you said one was a romance book store? I am not usually a sci-fi girl, but I love romance, and I still love your book...there's a good balance there. But then, if they don't like sci-fi, and don't have any other reason to read your book, like that they are friends with you, etc, I suppose that might be reason for them to say no because they wouldn't KNOW it's got some romance in there. But hopefully you'll find some other ones who will say yes!!

Sean
, glad you had fun with your outing! It's nice that you have some friends to do things with now!

Morning all!

The chaplain at my son's school is holding a special get together today to celebrate the release of The Heir. I'm not sure exactly what's going to happen, but I think there's going to be food and a few other mums and dads so hopefully I'll sell a couple of copies.

Sarah - I usually write the entire story in my head before I start putting it down on paper. Yes, there are plenty of days where nothing comes to me. At the moment I have a story going in my head and I've got about the first quarter sorted out but I have no idea where to go from there. I'm stumped.

Songbird - I shall admit here to having not seen the Keira Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice. I heard some bad things about it, and I must confess I don't really like Keira Knightly, so I never bothered. I'm sure I will some time. I thought the romance bookstore would go for The Heir, but maybe she likes a lot of sex in romance books, or something like that. Not gonna happen in one of my books.

I'm kinda bummed..our big family dinner (as big as you can get with us, it's just my parents, sister, husband and Mia) was cancelled because poor Mia has been throwing up all day. Poor kid! The weather has been gorgeous day- a 90 degree fall day which has been wonderful but I worked all day as usual..still, it's warm and pretty outside!

Lynne-oh thank God writing in my head is normal. I've been doing it since I was a kid and always felt like a big weirdo! I would think the bookstore would like The Heir as well, but you're right about romance books..I've never read any (nor 50 Shades of Grey for that matter) because I'm not interested in reading steamy scenes like that. That's really sweet about your chaplain helping you!

Song- We lasted about 5 1/2 hours with Mia walking nearly the entire time..my legs were starting to ache by the end so I was impressed that she didn't complain until the very end. I gave her a piggyback ride :) I got sucked back into Mockingjay so I haven't read any more Austen but maybe this weekend after my sister leaves. Sorry about your terrible bike ride :( Doesn't sound fun!
