Open Water. Dumbest movie ever. The entire movie they're bobbing in the water, then they get attacked by sharks. I'm pretty sure my entire French class cheered at the end of the movie just because it was done, and they were tired of making fun of it.

I might get accused of overthinking this, but I have a few criteria for what movies would be contenders for "worst ever." First, no movie of the sort that you know in advance that it will be bad qualifies--e.g., an Andy Sidaris movie. Second, no TV movie or direct-to-video/DVD movie qualifies because, again, they aren't the sort of movie that you'd expect the people in charge would try to make decent. Third, low-budget, limited-release indie movies don't qualify because they're often very narrow in their appeal by nature.

My list of contenders would include:

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Thunderbirds
The Grinch (live action)
The Curse of the Pink Panther and The Trail of the Pink Panther

and the movie I'd currently rank as the worst:

Casino Royale (1967 version)

I sat down and watched the Lord of the rings and swiftly fell asleep while watching it. I thought it was cos I'd been tired or something so tried again only to find my self almost bored to tears! :|
I get it that we all have different tastes but for me this is up there. The pianist was rather dire too.

I think one of the WORST EVER was this one that had Katie Holmes and Benjamin Bratt in it. I can't remember the name though. I also HATE every single one of the Harry Potter movies. BLECK! I also HATE Panic Room. Kristen Stewart was the only good thing in that movie (and the only reason I have watched it 3 times)

You may not even want to remember the title, but I think you mean Abandon. That one was pretty bad--even having both Zooey Deschanel and Melanie Lynskey in supporting roles couldn't save it.

Now I know I might be of the minority here & don't hate me but in my opinion Avatar was awful. I hated that movie. I don't get at all what the big deal about that was.

As I get older, it seems like EVERY movie I see has some sort of "well this just sucked" factor in it. The most recent movie I've seen that just sent my whole brain whimpering into hibernation was The Haunting of Molly Hartley. If I could get my hands on the actual original script I would burn it until nothing remained but gasoline REsoaked ashes. That movie was gruesomely horrible on so many unknown levels that I honestly wanted to punish myself for putting my eyes through that kind of Hollywood idiocracy filled torment. Who actually sat in a room and proudly decided that they were going to fund such garbage? There was no "wow" in the movie and the dialogue was extremely elementary. If I could go to the "Time Fairy" I'd angrily demand my 92 minutes of precious time wasted back.

Oh yea, Chace Crawford.... you were hot. ;)

This is just my PERSONAL opinion on what i thought this movie was.
