don't worry, I'm trying hard not to post any spoilers on here, I hope everyone else will do the same! and yeah i was wondering about the children of benders and how that worked...like the science and genetics behind bending...and I think there are only less waterbenders born bc the water tribes are just a lot smaller population-wise, there are definitely a lot of ppl in the earth kingdom and fire nation.
I was thinking the other day about things I will be reallllyy sad about if they get left out, and some of them were kind of silly but still very important to me.
katara's hair loupies
boomerang!
Iroh's love of tea
the cabbage salesman
etc...

As I've mentioned, I've been re-watching the whole series with my son. It's the first time I've seen some of these episodes in 2 years. Today we watched my favorite: Tales of Ba Sing Se. My son loves the cabbage salesman. But all of these things you mentioned above were all in that episode. It was such a great episode to showcase the "human" side of all of the characters.

Okay, I'm not a big fan of Avatar, but I have a question. Is this movie you guys are talking about animated, or will it have real actors? I'm confused. 8-)

The movie is live action--that's why we're all so excited! We get to see our favorite characters in flesh and blood. I am wondering, though--wasn't Sokka like, fourteen? He seemed pretty young, and not that I'm complaining--I love Jackson--but isn't he a little old?

Yes, it's one of those cartoons that has "young characters" that act about 10 years older than they are. I mean - Aang was what - 12? And he's that mature and in love with Katara... I think that the "true nature" of the characters justifies older actors. Late teens, early 20s. I'd be comfortable with that - better than some pre-teens playing in the movie (at least I think.)

As I said before I'm not such a big fan of the whole Real Life Avatar idea. I like it the way it is, in cartoon! I mean, I wouldn't want it to end up like Dragon Ball Z or Street Fighters.

Oh man, how could I forget the cabbage man? He's like the fish from spongebob who always says "My leg!"

I'm definitely excited for the movie. And as far as I can tell, they ARE filming the water tribe stuff up in Greenland. The rest of it is supposed to be filmed in and around the Philadelphia/Pennsylvania region. That's where a lot of M's movies are filmed since he's from Philadelphia. Jackson's band 100Monkeys said something about them coming to Philly. So we shall see.

And yes, Sokka is supposed to be 15 and Katara is supposed to be like 13. At least I think that's what I read somewhere. I really don't remember where anymore. Oh well. But I'm excited. Jackson cut his hair into the tiger tail so it's all ready to go when he starts filming :-)

Yeah I think I agree about the age thing, Im ok with older actors if it makes for better acting and action scenes...
I'm a big M night fan so I have faith that this movie will at least have good acting and visuals. and omg I really cant wait to see jackson's hair! Im also curious if they will do aangs tattoos correctly. I was looking at some fun costume pictures of people dressed as aang and the tattoos look way better in cartoon form lol
