Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg spoke to people.com about Vanessa Hudgens NOT being in New Moon and gave this earth shattering piece of information:

Rosenberg also offered a few other insider tidbits about the progress of New Moon. "Well, you know Taylor Lautner will be back as Jacob Black. I can tell you the original cast will all be coming back. They're on set right now, in Vancouver! They're all up there prepping the movie to start shooting very soon."

So she didn't specifically say Rob was there but she said ALL cast (which includes Rob as one of the main characters), how could he not be there?

He did say, however, that he complained the whole time they were at dinner and she never stalked him again! LOL Poor Rob...poor girl.

then when he opens it he will find a beautifully crafted shirt designed by the creepers along with a note telling him to wear it all the time. haha
