I must confess, I didn't see the movie until it came out on DVD, but Peter Facinelli was excellent as Carlisle. I hope that he'll continue in the part as long as the movies keep coming out. I first saw him as a baddie in this piece of you-know-what sci-fi movie called Supernova, but I think the part of Carlisle suits him much better.

glad to see a new fan. yeah i think peter will be carlisle for the entire saga. i doubt there's anything that would prevent him from doing so. he makes a great dr. cullen for sure.

I've seen that! He was the bad guy. He'll be in the rest of the series, if he isn't I'll be mad.

I haven't seen much of Peter Facinelli, but he seems to be darn good actor. I can't think of anyone else I would have wanted to see play the part of Carlisle Cullen. For lack of a better word, he seems to "wear" the part so well. He has made the character of Carlisle his own, and for another actor to step into the role would be ridiculous.

Actually, according to the Twilight Director's notebook/handbook whatever it is, someone was originally chosen over Peter, but his schedule didn't work out. Peter had mailed Catharine Hardwicke a cool vamp book with a nice letter and all saying basically that he hoped they would have another chance to work together some time. So he got the job. :] Hehe, he jokes he spent $29.95 to get the job.

yeah peter told that story at the chicago twilight convention i was at. he said some 40 year old actor had the part. i was like daaaang, good thing you got it, haha

I"m so glad he did. I would like to know who this 40 year actor was.

I want to know too. I mean, who in the world could they have thought would be a better Carlisle than Peter?!
