Afton stood in line with the other guards. Staunch he stood there. But he couldn't help but notice the new girl, Elena. She must be special from the looks of Aro's enthusiasm.

Elena introduced herself and extended her arm to Aro. Giving him every single detail of her life. But the moment it stopped, everything froze. Time did. Both Elena and Aro stared at each other with a hint of joy. Something must have came up. But Afton is clueless. Eager to find out the answers.

Santiago stood patiently in line, his posture having been perfected over the years. His hand was interwoven with Ana's by his side, his fingers tightly attached to hers. He leaned in forward, giving her a quick kiss on the forehead - no, he knew how nervous she got when put in front of Aro. He'd never quite been sure why, because they adored her, but his love wasn't the type to get cocky.

Like Afton by his side, Santi's eyebrows rose at the interaction between Aro and Elena. No one made Aro happy, and Elena had. "You know what that was?" Santi mused, leaning in close enough to Ana's beautiful hair that his whisper was barely audible. He trusted the rest of the guard, but some things were better heard only by Ana.

"No idea," said Ana, her hand trembling.

Afton has never seen such perfect stance done by Santi. He tried it on by himself but he guessed no one can pull off such stance as Santi.

Aro got everything he needed from Elena. "Magnificent, Elena you are truly one of a kind.
You have abilities that surpasses Volturi guards yet a piece of humanity is left within you. To be truly vampire, you have to taste the human blood as if it is the only thing that keeps you alive. Bury your humanity. It is already lost. Afton, bring me a meal...for Elena."

Afton rushed to the back and returned with a human being. Elena's friend of a bully. Caroline.
She was dragged and pleaded, "What is going on? Who are you people? Please, let me go."

"Now, isn't she the woman that destroyed your life in high school? The woman that brought pain and despair and misery to your life? Now it is time to take all those back. No more bullies. No more agony. No more suffering" Aro grinned like the devil he is.

Before Caroline could recognize Elena, Elena ravaged Caroline in a flash. Elena was breathless while draining her bully. All those years of torment, of misery, of hate, of humiliation, of pain. She just couldn't stand looking at her and her past. Aro knew bringing Caroline would piss Elena off immediately.

Caroline's pulse stopped. And everything went silently.

Aro was amused and immediately hugged the blood drenched Elena, "My child, welcome to the Volturi." It was official, Elena became the newest member of the Volturi guards.

Afton was happy but he felt the jealousy mocking him. He didn't understand what was going on. Afton is confused.
