Matilda frowned. She would tell them right now. She looked up to observe the motionless lights around her. Santiago. Matilda thought loudly.

At first, nothing happened, but soon a dull light pulled itself from the constellaton and positioned itself in front of her. It was a icy color, neither white nor blue. It was pretty strange. Without another second, the light floated to the ceiling and vanished.

Whatever Santiago was, he sure wasn't lively.

Joha was about to answer Athena until she heard something in Matilda's head.

"Well, I heard Rick killing him," she said slowly, "but Matilda's lights seem to say otherwise?"

Her statement turned into a question at the end, she wasn't sure how the lights worked...

"Well, I heard Rick killing him," Joha said slowly, "but Matilda's lights seem to say otherwise?"

Johanna was uncertain.

"Matilda," I asked quietly. "Is Santiago dead?"

"I can't say for sure." Matilda mused. "Otherwise, his light would have been completely white..." She murmured, more to herself than anyone else.

"I get can another light to show us...but there's no way we'd know for sure unless we followed it." She looked up.

"I think we should follow it," I said quietly.

The Masters wouldn't be glad to have a guard less.

"Matilda, let's go to the light, yes?"

Matilda nodded and looked up back at the lights.

"Santiago." She murmured and another one of her lights slowly faded to the same icy color. It hovered in front of her and beckoned them to follow.

Matilda led the way as they walked out of the library, past the rooms, past the halls until they had left the castle grounds all together. Was he even in Volterra anymore? Demetri had said no.

I followed Matilda, as did Johanna ((and anybody else who's with us)).

We soon left the castle grounds.

Was Santiago really far away?

(Where did Derek say he was...?)

(Is it just some random cave? )

((For some reason, I'm thinking a cave in Scotland hahah. But I doubt that's where it is.))

I was just standing off to a corner... not really sure what to do....

((Yeah, really don't know how Elena would be needed at this point... seriously... I don't like writing depressing things, but right now, it goes with her character...))
