Funnily enough, I don't mind. When a sequel is made, people naturally want to know about what's new, and I will admit that each book had its own flaws that I would love to see slightly amended in the films, including a few underdeveloped characters that never quite had the impact that they could have with more development.
Riley is one of them, of course. His death seemed to be quite tragic, but I never felt any impact from Victoria's romantic manipulations in the book. If they show that intensity between them, his movie demise would be much more effective. Then again, we're only hearing about the newborns from a few actors because those will be some of the most exciting scenes for the Cullen family as a whole (mostly due to the training involved, I'm sure). In the book, we don't see much of their fights due to it being from Bella's perspective, but movies work quite a bit differently from a visual standpoint.
