I ignored my friends' telling me to read Twilight for a year before it was assigned by my book club, and I ended up reading Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse in 3 days. Needless to say, my family didn't have very much clean underwear by Monday morning
With Twilight, I was completely enchanted by Edward and Bella's story, and with New Moon, I fell in love with Jacob...by the end of Eclipse I was sobbing over his broken heart and was thoroughly digusted at how Bella could choose cold, sparkly Edward over My Jacob. I'll take a space-heater over the ice sculpture any day, thank you very much. Not that I don't like Edward, he's an awesome guy, but still... he's no Jacob Black. At first I didn't want Bella to become a vampire, it would've seemed too predictable, but Steph pulled it off beautifully. I decided that Jake is too good for Bella, and she and Edward are perfect for each other anyway. I was so pleasantly surprised when Renesmee came along and made all of Jake's dreams come true. I've gotta say, if it were me, I would've named Renesmee "Elizabeth", but I guess Stephenie can do whatever she wants with her people. Of course, in a perfect world, Jake would end up with ME (I'm cute, for a 40-something mom
Breaking Dawn is my favorite of the Fab Four, mostly because I got to know Jake so much better, and also because he (and everyone else, except for Irina) end up happy. For all of the Haters who complain that all that happiness is unrealistic, if I want realism, I'll read the newspaper, but for sheer literary entertainment, bring on the Twilight Universe!
