Hi everyone I am sooo happy to finally join the Lex!
My screen name Snoochie16 was picked when I was 16. I had just seen the movie Mallrats and was trying to come up with something fun for my first email address. The character Jay was always saying Snoochie Bootchies and so I borrowed it.
The first I ever heard of Twilight was when my little sister dragged me to see the first movie in the theatre. I totally did not get it! I was like big deal what’s all the big fuss about, etc. I had no idea at this time that it was based on a book. The next year, in keeping with the sisterly tradition, we also went to see New Moon. I figured what the heck the eye candy isn’t bad. This year back when I was on maternity leave in May my sister informed me she had all of the books, did I want to read them as Eclipse was coming out in a few months. I was very hesitant as I knew what a big deal some people were making and I did not want to get caught up in the big fuss over some teen book that probably wasn’t worth my time. I had my son, and found myself at home after my boys were in bed needing some me time. I wanted to read something so I figured what the heck...four books would last me awhile right? My only worry now was that whenever I read something if I like it I get very caught up in it and WANT TO DO NOTHING ELSE!! I could not shirk my motherly duties! So every night I allowed myself one chapter. This did not last long. Soon I upped it to two and then eventually read until my husband came home at 1am and took the book off my face! Needless to say I was hooked! I flew through all four books in a matter of two weeks and that was stretching it out as much as possible. I was reading when feeding the baby!
I have many favourite parts of every book (which I am in fact rereading and highlighting for a friend), but I guess as a whole I would have to say that Eclipse is my favourite. It is the first book where Edward and Bella are just trying to BE in their relationship. He is not trying to talk himself into leaving for her own good and she can fully appreciate him now that she been able to let him go. They are merely a vampire and girl in love!
After reading Midnight Sun I would have to say that Edward is my favourite. He over thinks everything with such an intensity how could he NOT have a soul? I love Jasper for his reassurance of Bella’s worthiness, and adore Alice for her close relationship with Edward that could almost make you jealous if it wasn’t just soooo sisterly.
I am so new to Twilight that right now my main hobby is..well, Twilight! Otherwise I am an early 30’s mommy who is a serious movie buff and would have a degree in Pop Culture if there ever was one! I am originally from Washington State (a mere 2.5 hour drive from Forks in fact) and after a short 5 year stint in northern CA in my youth landed here in sunny Florida. My heart is in WA, but I have a WA sub in Michigan where my husbands family is. The weather is similar and it feels like home!
