I am having a horrible time getting an avatar to work. I uploaded a tinypic .jpg file and it tells me I need to upload a .png file. So I did, then it tells me I have to use a .jpg file. ARGHH!!! Help?

I went to look at the site, and it seems that you may have chosen a bad link.

Make sure that the link you chose to post is a direct link hosted from the site itself. Many times, you will be given more than one type of link from the site, and it won't work. Just putting in the jpg address of an image you Googled isn't good enough, it must be hosted in a site.

You can either try the direct link code for that picture or one of the others there.

My other suggestion is that you find a similar photo in Photobucket (register first, it's very easy) and add it to your album. Once there, you can choose and re-size almost any photo. Be sure you use the direct link code. If it doesn't work, just keep trying the codes until one does.

Hi,

The image is a bit too big.

maximum size is 500 px by 250 px.

Yours looks to be about 600 pixels by 200 pixels

Resize and you should be OK.

Hi Silver Rose!

You can resize your image two ways. If the image is from a site, and you simply grabbed a link to it, you will need to import it to your own files on a site like photobucket. These sites are very easy to join, and they allow you to store and edit all your avi's and siggys. Once you have downloaded the picture to your own album or file, simply use the site's editing feature to resize it. Don't forget to save the new size and replace the original. Then, you can grab a link and it will work. If you are unsure of what I just said (it can be very confusing) please feel free to pm me.

Can you post a link to the avatar here? The image must be 100px by 100px.

If I can see it then I can help you out and get it set up.
