I got the impression that Edward was always very careful to keep his mouth closed while kissing Bella. I agree with MRK, venom isn't acidic and wouldn't have hurt Bella just by being in her mouth, she'd have to have it in her bloodstream--which made contact with Edward's razor-sharp teeth out of the question! I would also like to know how venom destroys contacts; do we have any contact specialists in the fandom to answer this question?

Like there's some other powerful werewolf pack somewhere? I know that probably isn't too likely because it was a La Push legend, but it makes me really sad to think that she was forced into giving up the possibility of having kids someday. Maybe she'll just fall in love like normal people and they'll adopt. I dunno.
I think we're going to have to wait for Stephenie to give us more details about female werewolves and why imprinting happens. I think everyone in book was just guessing; maybe none of them were right! But just think, if Leah were having a period when she phased--would that be the equivalent of being in heat? In a pack of male wolves? That would be really distracting! And if she got pregnant--what would phasing do to her baby? I'm shuddering to think of all the ramifications, here, like being impregnated while still in wolf form. Ewww. I feel like it was a kindness of nature to suspend her periods after she phased the first time.
Over all, I agree with Jake, though. Once Leah stops phasing--and she wanted to stop as soon as she could--I would bet her body will revert back to normal and she'll have the opportunity to have children.
midnight_fix wrote:Bella struggled so much when the venom was working through her system to not show any outward sign of pain, even though she was in agony. She was trying to protect Edward, I get that, but wasnt' Jasper around? Wouldn't he have known right away that Bella was obviously suffering? Even if Jasper stayed out of the room for those two days or something, I would think that Edward would ask Jasper how Bella was..he would want to know, right?
It seems Bella was succesful in fooling everyone into thinking she didn't feel anything. I'll feel dumb if I'm just forgetting Jasper was somewhere else during this time or something like that but like I said I don't have BD with me. Anyway, any thoughts?
It seems reasonable to me that Jasper would have known that Bella was in agony. Maybe Jasper was giving Edward "space." Maybe he was avoiding a depressed emotional climate (Edward). Maybe he was still on the hunting trip with Carlisle. Maybe Bella was better at enduring her pain than she thought. Maybe the morphine supressed Jasper's ability to determine how Bella was doing. I think that last idea might be the closest to the truth. What do the rest of you think?
