Vampmadness welcome! Can we call you Vampman? I can sympathize a bit, my hubby doesn't understand my obsession with Twilight. He doesn't share my absolute addiction to reading but he doesn't mind. As he says, we all need our little distractions from reality. The important thing is that we spend time together and as he so lovingly puts it, "you don't ditch me for the library". Aww, eh,after dinner he watches what ever he wants on television and I use him as my pillow while reading. It's a win-win. :D But it is frustrating when you have a Twilight moment and you share and they give you that blank stare that almost makes you feel like they think you are insane. Yeah... that I don't like.

What is the weirdest/craziest dream you've ever had? I don't know but it could be last night's. Okay, just to help convey, I dream in color, with sights, sounds and smells. Sometimes when I wake up from an in depth dream I have trouble figuring out what reality. Last night's was a science fiction dream that is on the tip of my tongue and now I can't grasp it! Argh! It was so real, I really need to start writing these down when I wake up. I even remember thinking that it'd make a great story. Ah-ha, it revolved around mind control and an alien invasion. Like a cross between "Independence Day" and the psy from P/C.

una,

Thank you for the welcome! I know I will like it here. I do like the sound of vampman. So yeah! That would be good! :D

Has your hubby read Twilight? My wife has but did not have the same crazed obsessed reaction that I had/have. It sucks sometimes but, I will be dragging her to the movie kicking and screaming if I have to

Welcome Vampman! Weirdest dream that I remember (I've had a lot, but they fade) was when I was a kid. We were being chased by indians and so we ran to my grandmothers and did that slow motion thing trying to get up her steps and into the house. As soon as we closed the door, arrows rained down on the house and stuck to it. When we pulled the arrows out, the sucked out a cylinder of paint, like a plug if the paint had been four inches thick. My grandmother's house was old, built in 1927 so the walls were plaster and I just remember decades of paint on the house. I think my dad had been repainting it that summer. No wonder my imagination saw it as four inches thick.

I have to say though as an adult, there's been nothing weirder than pregnancy dreams. You can't sleep in those last weeks and you float through light sleep with all this real and hormonal anxiety. The mix is a crazy cocktail for bizarre dream making. I remember some of those very vividly, but won't describe them here.

I got another crazy one for you.

When I was probably around 12 and lived in California, I once had this wierd dream that I was inside a neighbors house and there were men outside trying to get in, and wanted our cookies, and when we wouldn't give them any cookies they proceeded to shake the house.

Turns out while I was having that dream we had an earthquake. I had no idea, until I woke up in the morning and my mom had asked me if I felt the quake, and I was like we had a quake? Then I thought about my dream. It is weird how the mind works.
As long as I was on my way to Hell - I might as well enjoy the journey.

Vampman - my hubby has not read Twilight nor will he ever. Firstly it is not his genre, he prefers more non-fiction and more particular war related (WWI, WWII) type of reading. Secondly, he is a touch dyslexic so reading is time consuming and requires a lot more energy and effort so it is not a relaxing/restful escape for him. But he allows me to fill him in on little things as my Twilight moments occur. He is even willing to go to the movie with me. He was not into HP but I read those and he let me tell him a bit about them. However, when the movies became less childish (as we know HP books in writing and subject grow along with the characters) he went to see the 3rd movie with me and has enjoyed it and the subsequent ones. He has no desire to see the first two as he sees them as more of a kid movie. Plus I filled him in on them so he feels that is sufficient.

He has his "obsession" with his "Call of Duty" game and another one (I just remember it has a grenade with a happy face pin on it). He understands my book obsession and gives me some reign and I do the same for him with his games. Course, the nice part of this is that we can each indulge in our particular activity and yet still be together. He'll pause his game when I laugh or feel the need to "share" something from the book I'm reading just as look up when he conquers something or there is a funny part in his game. I like to think we work hard at trying to keep a healthy give and take when it comes to our own interests. And yet, not isolate each other because our interests (escapes) are different. Luckily there are shows on television we both enjoy and that is what we watch when eating dinner. Course, it takes us forever to get through them (we Tivo them) since we will pause all the time to chat and then go back and continue watching.

Ha we are cross posting, Vampman - crazy dream there! Amazing how you can take something in the waking world and incorporate into your subconscious!

Yay for all the people that liked my avi, I could also watch spider dance all day, he is just too funny.

I haven't seen the Covenant either, please people don't pm me, I will try to get it as soon as possible, I gather from your posts that Una got her inbox full.
GNE, I'm sorry you are not feeling well, you shouldn't have gone to teach class, in Edward's words : "Ditching is healthy" 8-)

Nissan, I am so excited for you to come to the valley of fun *snort*, well... here to the home of the SLTA, we are going to have a blast. I haven't sent the email I told you about because Sporty and I are still brewing the details. Prepare to par-tey!

Oleander, that convo was really cute. J is such a good sport. Sounds like he is a keeper :)
My husband has been really supportive of my obsession but if I declare to him that I would leave him for Edward... hm... he would probably be mad at me and would probably use it against me instead of playing along  sad, I know.

What is the wierdest/craziest dream you have ever had? Ha, I have had tons... I dream every night, and I remember most of them, with a lot of detail. I have had a lot of weird dreams, but the one that I will never forget was back in 1998. I was in High school and one of my best friends and I played both in the soccer and Volley ball team, so we used to see each other in school and during practice. This dream happens on a Thursday after practice, when I get home.
I dream that my friend and I are in a place that has a lot of people sitting down in a row, almost like a panel, and we are escorted by two men. Once we are facing the panel, it almost feels like we are in court or something, the panelist are all dressed in white and I recognized my grandma (dead in 1992). I run to her and talk with her but she doesn't remember me. I start crying and I get kicked out of this place for disturbing the peace (haha). I tell my friend that she needs to come with me but she insisted that she has to stay and that she will catch up with me later.
End of the dream. I wake up really sad because my grandma didn't acknowledge me and the next day I tell my friend at school that I had a dream about her and my grandma and we laugh about me being kicked out to what we decided to call "heaven".
Saturday Morning, I receive a call from another team mate. I find out my friend has passed away. Yeah, sorry, my dream was neither funny or had a happy ending, but it has to be the weirdest/craziest dream I ever had :(

Welcome vampmadness, hope you like it here, I promise this thread is funner... leave it to me to bring the mood down..

One of the weirdest things I've ever done is wake myself up in the middle of my dream because I was laughing, not just in the dream but really laughing. It was freaky

I have always had very vivid realistic dreams, too.

One I had when I was little (probably around 4) was about going to visit the alphabet. The different letters were in exhibits much like at a zoo. When we visited W, he got made at us and we all (family) ran away.

I think when I sleep my senses become more acute. I can smell things and hear things more. My husband says if a mouse let a "stinker" in the next room it would wake me up. That's probably true because I have to unplug the febreze plug ins at night or they wake me up. I have to sleep with a fan to block out any other noises--I use it for the white noise.

I had crazy dreams when I was pregnant too. Mostly death dreams, I don't know why.

Ooh weird dreams. I had to many to name. I am one of those people that remember dreams very well when waking up.
Luckely, cause I do get a lot of inspiration for stories out of dreams.

I think one of the weirdest was a repetitive dream I had when I was a kid. It was about indians and vikings coming over my grandparents house and chasing me and my cousins. Very scary and real, and the thing was it came back a lot. It was the time i didn't wanted to go to my grandparents house anymore and I didn't dare to tell my parents why.

There was also the dream where I dreamt (again very lively) about a killer murdering my parents and brothers and just left me alive to watch it all and then he just left. The weird thing was that everything really seemed very real, but it wasn't in our own house. I woke up screaming (even though I was over 18) and I didn't wanted to scare my parents so I lied about it.

And yes, pregnant dreams. I get those alot. The weirdest one must have been when I dreamed about having a baby when I still lived at home and the crib just stood behind my bed in my room at the parents home.

una,

I cans share your passion for book reading. I must admit thought that it was HP that got me reading again. Ever since HP I can't seem to read enough. I used to read Stephen King and others but lost interest in reading. After HP though I read a lot of different genre's. I really like Dean Koontz Odd Thomas series. You should check that one out if you have not already.

nissan and Lieziewieze,

nissan, thanks for the welcome!

I can't say that I know what a pregnancy dream is like!

nena

thanks for the welcome! I know the Gutter is a lot funner. I have been here before. You did not bring the mood down. You have to just remind everyone of the rules every now and again.

I LOVE Dean Koontz, I think I've read everything he has written. Tell me did you find the last Odd Thomas book not as good as the others? I so did. I was disapointed because I loved the others but the last one just wasn't as good.
