Ummm...Una what in dickens is up with the blue monkey in the pirate hat (PSD2)?

Vampman I suspect that you are right about my darling S keeping his man feelings bottled deep inside. Its just not normal, everyone I know was crushed when Edward left. It would be incredibly cool to have him on the Lex when he finishes...we'll have to wait and see

una,

Thanks for indulging me. I know who the first 2 are but not sure about the 3rd. I have one to add though. She is my favorite!

PSD4

inspired,

Even though I know the outcome of NM I still feel crushed when Edward leaves. I think next time I will skip that chapter!

Welcome Vampmadness!

Oleander - Your friends conversations are great. Hopefully your Edward will call soon.

I'm trying to get my husband to read the series but he's resisting. I feel sure he would like it if he'd just give it a try. We are so similar in everything. I think our biggest discrepancy is that I prefer Jet Li and he prefers Jackie Chan when we watch martial arts movies. I hate to say this but the Twilight trailer is probably what killed it for him. I didn't get into the books until this summer and by then he had already seen the first trailer for the film and absolutely hated it. So when I told him how good the books were, his first thought was "Ugh, she's obsessed over that?" I've tried convincing him that the movie looks very different from the books. It hasn't worked yet. He's so stubborn.

He agreed to go to the movie with me, but now I'm having second thoughts about taking him. If he hates the movie, he might never read the books. Then again, if the movie interests him even a little, it could make him want to read them. Gah, I can't decide.

I've had a lot of crazy dreams. I had one dream where I was moving into a new house and Heath Ledger's version of the Joker was sitting outside each window staring into the house. There were multiples of course, and I could see them sitting outside when I pulled up to the house. They never moved. I went inside and shut a window and that Joker disappeared. Then I was suddenly a little girl again. There were coloring books all over the floor and I was making a squiggly mess in them. Then that weird subconscious voice that tells you things in your dreams told me that if I kept doing that the little girl on the page was going to come out and kill me because I was hurting her. Yeah, that was a weird dream.

The one I remember the most though is a recurring nightmare I had from early childhood up until a few years ago. I was a toddler playing outside on my grandparents' porch. I had a fly swatter which was something they always used to let me play with, and I was swinging it around. I saw a honey bee and got afraid so I killed it with the fly swatter. Then this huge bumble bee, he was at least as big as my head, came up over the porch railing and started chasing me. It had pointy steel teeth and fiery red eyes. It finally caught up to me and opened it jaws to bite off my head. I reached up and was holding it's jaws open with my bare hands and the teeth were cutting my palms. My mom heard me screaming and came out onto the porch. As soon as I saw her, the bee disappeared from in front of me and reappeared behind her head. The bee was laughing and chomping it's teeth. I was screaming at my mom that the bee was behind her but she wasn't listening to me. Then I looked down and saw that I was in my crib. I had a blanket with tiny bunnies all over it and the bunnies morphed into bees and flew up at me. That's where the dream always ended.

One night my family was talking and reminiscing and my mom brought up this time when I was 1 1/2 and had a very high fever and was hallucinating. I asked her what I did and she said she heard me screaming but when she came into my room I wouldn't let her come near me. I just kept pointing to something behind her and shouting "Bee! Bee!" Then, out of the blue, I started screaming at my crib and holding my arms out for her to pick me up. I put two and two together and figured that must have been the origin of my dream. Since then, I haven't had the dream again.

Aren't dreams funny things. Why can some people remember their dreams, and some can't? Since everyone dreams, but supposedly, you only remember them when you wake up in the middle of it? Strange. I've woken up several times with dreams on my mind, but only remember 2 in my life.

The first dream I remember, I've actually had 3 times, and each one went further than the time before. It's way too long for details, but it involved miniature golf, ghosts of pirates, a crazy witch lady, my brother being captured, my sister and I rescuing him, hidden rooms behind a hole in the wall that was covered by a painting, and a military base. And somehow, it all fits.

The only other dream I remember I had when pregnant with my 3rd child. My parents were killed in a auto accident, I had to take in my baby brother and sister (at the time, my youngest siblings were still in high school). Hubby and I and our kids moved into my parents house, and took over their lives.

I read Odd Thomas, and the next 2, but I didn't care for Brother Odd, it was just too weird for me.

I admire guys who will read a book that is seen as "girly." I just wish my husband would read anything. He proudly claims he hasn't read a book since Jr. High. What a bad example. At least my kids enjoy reading still. I hope that never changes. Oh, and I asked him if he'd go see the movie with me, and he snorted. No chance there. So, I will be enjoying a Twilight Prom before the midnight showing (with my peeps, the SLTA, and NiMa) and then I will enjoy it with the rest of the SLTA during a matinee showing (less screaming and squealing teens) and then I hope to see it with my sisters sometime. And, since I'll have time on my hands after finals are over, and my kids are still in school, I'll probably go see it again once or twice by my self (if I can't convince anyone to come with me).

Welcome Vampmadness! It's always nice to have another man join in, and we just lost one last week, so your timing is impeccable!

Thanks for the hopeful wishes about "my" Edward. I'm not holding my breath. If it's not meant to be, then i'll wait for a Jacob to come along (now, wouldn't that be odd!)

I have been having strange dreams lately but a lot of them are far beyond gutter-worthy ;)

I'm heading out of town tomorrow after work--going to visit my younger brother in Halifax for his son's christening. I won't be online as much (what kind of modern boy doesn't have wireless internet in his apartment?) and I'll probably be fighting with him for the modem cord and the baby. Hmmm...maybe the train will have wireless and i'll be able to be on the internet for the entire trip...wouldn't that be cool! Anyway...

I'll miss you all! Don't get too guttery without me!

Re: Dean Koontz… I had no idea there were 4 Odd Thomas books. Thanks. I think I have only read the last of the 4… and it was a little weird. I will be adding them to my ever growing list of books to get. Plus, the suggestion of The Taking and The Strangers or Watchers…

Re: Strange Dreams…
When I was young, about 10, I had a terrifying dream that I was trying to get in the front door of my house and Donald Duck was flying above me mocking me, not letting me get in the house. He just kept flying above my head. He didn’t touch me or restrain me. I don’t know why I just didn’t open the door and walk in.

Destani… that is one creepy dream with the joker. Do you like Bunnies today? After the Bee morphing…

Una, at least your hubby is supportive of your Twilight passion and addiction. Let me speak on behalf of those who are a touch dyslexic. That is me!!! (Diagnosed at 27ish after reading a book that left me wondering…) I wish I knew when I was in school because school was so HARD for dyslexic / ADD spookybell. It just was not dyslexic enough for teachers to be alerted. I didn’t write backwards. Reading is hard for me also, but it didn’t hinder my Twilight reading. It is also why I enjoy reading a book, then following it up with the audio book. I could go on and on about the fascination about us mildly dyslexic people and how it manifests differently from a severely dyslexic person.

Vamplover… I love that you included your earthquake with your dream.

Oh, that reminds me of my worst re-occurring nightmare. I have not had it in a long time. I dream that there is an emergency and I call 911, only the call does not go through. I call again, I dial wrong, and I call again… busy signal… I call again. No dial tone. I call again. It does not connect. I dial 911 again, and again, and again. I can’t remember if I have actually gotten through to 911 in my dreams. I have always successfully called and gotten through in my real life. Which has been 3 or 4 times. I am also CPR and 1st aid certified for (brace yourself… 21 years) and have an abnormal amount of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in my condo.

p.s. does anyone still use 9V batteries? I have a ton that have only been used for 6 months in a smoke detector? I change 4 of them every 6 months.

Oleander – that conversation was really super cute! What is that??? Your Edward isn’t calling? Hmmm. Is her really an Edward? I would want nothing less for my twin! Have a good trip to the wireless free zone...

Most people who don't have wireless don't have a lap top. I just got wireless internet when I got an Ipod Touch and found out I couldn't use it anywhere. I will be selling that little toy on Ebay soon...

Okay I am cutting myself off before I type a novel.

Yep. I love all animals, including bunnies and bees. My husband laughs at me because I'm super animal obsessed. I'll run after just about any animal, from cute and fuzzy to creepy crawly, to try to pet it.

Destini (I think I'm spelling wrong...)

Yeay! I love all things furry also. I was bit by a dog when I was 3. I have a scar on my cheek. It looks like a dimple. I have no fear of dogs and I love to pet all things furry. I draw the line at insects and non-fury creatures except for fish and turtles.

I read one Koontz book and didn't like it. His bad guys are really bad and he has a thing for adjectives. Too many to be precise. OMC! Enough with the verbal descriptions already. Can you say edit?! I've heard good things about the Odd Thomas series so I have them on my Shelfari list to read, but I don't know how quickly I'll be getting around to them...especially after GNE sends me the Dark Hunter books.

I'm so tired. I just want to go to bed. It's 11:15 pm here and I'm staying up with FS while he finishes a major assignment that he's procrastinated until the last minute...naturally. My mother used to stay up with me too. She never did my work for me, just kept me company and helped me stay awake. FS is the king of procrastinators. I can't believe he's not burned out on burning the midnight oil. I sure am.

I went to book club tonight. We did Life As We Knew It. It was well written, but I didn't like it for personal reasons. Check out my review on Shelfari.

So this weekend is FS's last high school football game ever. *heavy sigh* All the festivities start tomorrow. There's nothing like a force of footall parents to make the build up last longer than the game. This is the same group that got the police department to fly the game ball in to the fifty yard line by helicopter for Homecoming. We also had fireworks for every touchdown that game. Anyway, tomorrow night just the seniors and the coaches are going to Montgomery Inn for dinner. (Famous ribs place) Not to be outdone, the parents of the seniors are going to dinner at another restaurant. The tailgate on Friday starts at 5:00 pm. The senior parents have to be on the field at 6:40 for corsages and line up. We will walk across the field with our senior player and be introduced while his bio is read over the PA system...the bio he wrote and we never saw or had any input on. This has been a school tradition and while most are dry and boring, some are hilarious..."Kyle plans on doing something important with his life, he just hasn't figured out what it is yet," or "Tom plans on majoring in history although his mother still holds out hope that he'll become a doctor." After we get our picture taken, we join the other football families on the field. The whole team will run out through the fog and laser-light filled tunnel and through the families on the field who will release a few billion balloons into the air as they team runs by. Yeah, that's just the pre-game.

One of the other traditions is to have the fence lined with poster boards dedicated to each individual senior. I've spent the better part of the day printing out pics and organizing them. Tomorrow all I have to do is stick them down and lamiate the whole thing. (It's supposed to rain Friday night :( )

So new question now that it's almost a new day here in the eastern time zone: What are your feelings about slippers?
I realize this is an odd question, but my kids seem to think that their socks are slippers. I go through packs and packs of socks. I too am guilty of this because it's fun to slide on the wood floors, but I have really nice slippers and when I wear them I'm toasty warm and think, "Why don't I wear these more often?"

What are your feelings about slippers?

I have one pair of slipper that I like to wear to keep my feet warm. But, honestly, I'd just rather wear ankle socks. Slippers are too much like shoes; they feel too constricting. If I am doing little things around the house, I usually wear my Crocs because they help my feet not hurt as I have tendonitis in my feet and so they hurt all the time. I can never go bare foot if I'm going to be on them a lot (e.g. cleaning, dishes, laundry), so my Crocs are a life saver.
