Hope you guys don't mind if I jump in. Love this forum, even though it'd take me a while to catch up on all the posts! I've had the same problem some of you have mentioned, especially Destani?. I still love my Potter books, but Twilight just has something else that totally captured me! I've now read them twice in about 6 weeks, and it was really hard to get into anything else in between. Even from fav authors I've read many times! I'm looking forward to hooking up with a copy of The Host soon. (I got paid yesterday! Yah me!) We'll see what I can do. Also love the older Stephen King and Koontz too, and SciFi if my fav tv channel, at least on the weekends! I have 4 girls, the 2nd oldest in my Twilight starter, work at a craft store, and have been married for 19 1/2 years. I would quality for the "something" in 30 something, as I have crossed over to the 40 side! lol Nice to meet you all!! Ruth

T-pa and I hit our 20th's anniversary this year and I'm 42, so I'm still the oldest one lurking around (except Bewitched - haha!). Welcome to the dark side!

So tell me, do you spend your whole paycheck in the store? I dropped $50 bucks on supplies for that photoboard...well, I did go through two refill cartidges on my Xyron 500.

Very cool, poster N'mama! FS better appreciate it after all the time and money put into it. Those printer cartriges sure are expensive. I had to pay $60 to 75 or so for my laser printer.

I have to visit a school for my student teaching opportunity this afternoon. There should be no reason why I should be nervous, but I am and I can't help it. I just have to go in, meet the staff, ask about the library, and then decide if I want to student teach there. I was fine until my advisor but the word "interview" in her email in which she told me about the place. Oh well. I'll keep you guys updated. I just hope I don't have a Bella moment when I'm there.

I rarely go to the Bookstore until I absolutely want something. So, two weeks ago I purchased the Insider's Guide to BDB and Butch's book. Little did I know there were two other books that were also released and displayed. I walked out of B&N spending close to $60. Yeah, it kinda pinched the wallet but in a good way.

Welcome Ruth! I have had a hard time commiting to another book outside of TW, myself. Its really hard not to be biased!

I have a question/ topic for everyone, what has been your favorite read after Twilight?

Nissanmama That poster is incredible! I hope you have a great time tonight at the game.

Welcome Ruth, glad you've found us!

Nima I'm sure FS will appreciate it in his "Senior-in-high-school" way. 8-) It really turned out wonderful, you did a fabulous job! Hope the Tigers win. Course, now that I know his mascot is the Tigers, I have to root for him, my high school alma mater is the Tigers as well - Go Black & Gold!

CG you will do great this afternoon! No worries, remember they'll be lucky to have you if you decide to teach there!

I agree with the books, I never go into B&N unless I am picking something up. The worst is I will inevitably walk around with several extra books that I find that look good, are on someone's Shelfari and it looked good, or one of you gals/guys recommended. Then right before I go to check out, I realize how much money I am about to spend and have to put a few back. :? I feel awful...but at least the library is free...you just have to be patient.

I'm eagerly awaiting Niko's book of the MB series (for those that don't know - Midnight Breed) - there is a excerpt that is different than the preview given in Rio's book. Check it out...looks good! Warning, the series is med-low on the Ladder of Guttery Goodness (meaning med to high gutter content) so if you don't want to read the series, skip the excerpt.

ETA: I'm sorry, forgot your question Inspired. It is difficult to decide what my favorite read after Twilight was. For different reasons, my top four number ones would be: Time Travelers Wife, Psy/Changling, Black Dagger Brotherhood and Mercy Thompson series. Books that I love really speak to me and usually to different parts of my heart. I have an incredibly long list of my number 1 favorite books simply because they are number 1 for different reasons. I really have no overall number 1 book of all time. I just can't decide, it'd be like picking your favorite child...I can't do that!

skylarblue,

I saw a commercial yesteday with Alyssa Milano's NFL sports wear. It is actually pretty nice stuff

nima,

Very nice poster. Looks liks a lot of hard work went into that!

While I can't say that I appeciate your gratuitous PSD of the day I thought I would add my own just in case :D smokin

As far as books go. I love to read. Though I often leave the library empty handed bacause I can't seem to ever find anything worthwhile. I have heard that David Baldacci's books are supposedly really good but, everytime I pick one up and look at the back cover, I think to myself that I probably won't be able to get into this book!

I saw a book at Barnes and Noble the other day I forget the title but it had a bunch of short vampire stories from famous authors, like Stephen King, James Patterson, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz and many others. I should have bought it. Anybody know what I am talking about?

Favorite book since reading Twilight (series)? Well, there have been a few, like The Book Thief and To Kill a Mockingbird, my favorite is the book I just finished 2 days ago, The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. I highly recommend it. I think all my favorite books tend to be ones with a moral, but they are also the ones that are usually hard to reread. Sometimes, they just make me think too much. For rereads, I usually prefer a no-brainer that I can just get lost in the story.

The Mammoth Book of Vampires (or something like that)? Is that the one you're talking about. I've heard some good (smutty) things about that one. Maybe I should go get that one, or I mean, add it to my "to-read" list.

We WON! Despite the rain, the lightning delay, the mud and the injuries, we won. The football season is over and FS's high school career is finished. He can have surgery now. I only cried three times during the evening. The hardest moment for me was after the game when as a group, the seniors laid on their stomachs in the end zone, kissed the grass and then lined up on the very edge of the field. Together they took a giant step onto the track symbolically saying "goodbye"to the field and for most of them, competitive football. Most won't go on to play college ball.

The weight of the evening was tempered for me knowing that we leave early tomorrow morning for a recruiting trip to Butler University. We'll tour the campus, meet the coaches, get some lunch and attend their homecoming game. Tonight was an ending and tomorrow is a beginning. I'll post some pics when they are uploaded by the team photographer. Now I have to go wash that mud caked uniform.

I'll have to think about my favorite book since TW, there have been a lot thanks to the 50 book challenge...hmmm

Yeah, they won. What a way to end the season on a high note. I bet you were very proud and your poster was awesome. It showed the love you have for your son.

Isn't it awesome, how we as parents love those little moments and as mom's the littlest gesture gets the water spickets to start?

Hope things go well tomorrow. I will keep all 10 fingers and toes crossed for you and your family.
