Personally, The Host didn't appeal to me. It felt like a chore to read, and took a while to get places.

Of course, that's just me. Lots of people liked it.

I really really enjoyed the Host. Just like Twilight is a different take on Vampires, The Host is a different take on The Body Snatchers.

Anyone here think that there should have been a fight in Breaking Dawn? When the wolfs and vampires were facing the Volturi?

Still you guys don't think it would have been much more interesting with a huge fight at the end? I would have liked to have read about that.

I honestly don't. We wouldn't get the happy ending we got otherwise.

What if the story would have would have ended in an even happier ending? would you have liked a fight then, not sure how it would happen, well what i'm trying to say is that I would have liked to read some accion.

Oh and I finished The Last Olympian!!! It was awsome, now I have to wait for the movie...

How would it have been happier? Given the circumstances, there was great potential for death on either side. Even the singular death of Irina was enough to taint the ending.

I'm not saying I'm against action or fight scenes- where appropriate. I personally don't think a fight scene was appropriate here. It was meant to be a battle of wits, not fists.
