Hey, fellow (male!) Twilight fans.

I'm one of the fans who loved Kristen's performance as Bella in the movie. However, I have to applaud her for one particular performance: Into the Wild. I watched the movie for the first time yesterday, and I honestly believe that Kristen's short portrayal of Tracey was one of the best roles in her career thus far. She was brilliant at capturing Tracey's youthful affection for Chris, but what made the movie heartbreaking is that their expanded relationship in the film (which was adapted from a book, which is based on a true story...) is never resolved. Chris leaves Tracey in her small hippie community after resuming his cross-country journey to Alaska. Kristen's final look as she watches Chris drive away into the desert is absolutely heart-wrenching.

Plus, the scene in which Kristen's character tries to have sex with Chris in her parent's trailer is hilarious.

"How old are you...?"

"Eighteen."

*Chris looks at her in disbelief.*

"...Seventeen."

"What year were you born in?"

*Kristen gives an absolutely adorable look and covers her face in defeat.*

"I'm...sixteen."

Does anyone else agree that Into the Wild was Kristen's best performance so far? She seemed so genuine, and her lighter voice was adorable. Apparently, her performance in Into the Wild convinced Rob Pattinson that he *had* to work with her.

Oh, and Kristen sings in the film. She actually co-wrote one of the songs. :) She has a lovely voice.

Watching Into the Wild made *me* want to take a cross-country journey, if only to randomly meet some awesome individuals in unexpected places. Kristen gave just a heartwarming performance as a young girl in a small community.

Come on, guys, I know there's not much to talk about right now (or is there?...) but I would be extremely gratified if we at least managed to make it through 1 installation of the XY thread (100 pages) before we fizzled out and quit..
How about this...

Why is Caius such a jerkbag apphole?
yes I know what I wrote, and I think you will understand what I meant...
Any ideas?

Not sure. Seems like he's perpetually got a stick up where the sun don't shine- and being a vampire can't make that prospect any better.

Wonder if he was always like this, or if his run-in with that Child of the Moon made him so.

One theory I have is that, as the sole Volturi with no special ability, he has to be bullheaded about stuff to show that he is important despite that "handicap."

yes, he's got vampirical "big truck syndrome", only instead of a big truck to compensate for a little whatever, he's got a big attitude to compensate for a lack of talent.
Very good Rings, I like your theory.
Any other takers?

Tia posted her thoughts on the "Analyzing the XY thread", er, thread:
Tia wrote:Regarding the For XY Discussion Only!! forum concerning Caius and his attitude.

My belief is it took several instances/incidents for how he became that way.

One of the Children of the Moon almost won against him, Extra Abilitys could have prevented that. Frustration at his lack of Abilitys then, made him sullen and forming his wish to enforce rules vigorously against them.

Other Volturi could both use their powers and be feared because of those powers, further fueling his attitude.

Not being able to use any Extra Abilitys when at court, he could have approached that with extensive searching of how to use the laws against people. Even bending the laws best as he could to force judgment on someone. Releasing his anger and providing a fear of him, as a part of the trio.

Aro, having seen his devout outlook on Laws and attitude would use that to his advantage. Becoming a lawyer of the trio, seeking out any flaws in their defence. Enforcing his belief that his way of approaching laws and attitude is the right way for him.

This is just my outlook on him, and was in response from the For XY discussion Only!! thread about Caius

Thank you Tia for your input.

I do agree with you there.

Also, Caius is perhaps filling the role of "Bad Cop", Aro being the "Good Cop", and Marcus being, well, rather aloof from the whole situation.

I think it helps to reinforce the fear of the Volturi, knowing that they can, and well, with next to no provocation (in the name of Justice) completely eradicate any perceived threat to their dominion.

And, like a said, Vampiric Big Truck syndrome (Big Truck by Coal Chamber plays quietly in the background, lol).

Thanks you for your thoughts!

I kinda feel sorry for the guy. Can you imagine what it would be like living that long, with no special powers, no one to love, knowing a werewolf almost killed you, having to listen to Aro make decisions for you all the time (since it always seems Aro is the deciding factor).....Just my thought on the subject tho
