Im reading atonement at the moment.

I just wanted to ask people opinion...i dont know if this is the right place but i didnt want to make a new pointless thread.

Im 19 nearly 20 yet i really want to re read some old classic kids books like the wizard of oz,charlottes web,black beauty etc. Im just worried that people will think im an idiot for reading kids books at my age. The same with more modern books as well, i have a guilty pleasure of reading Gossip girl, and the travelling pants etc but i feel so immature for reading them and i feel like i should be reading more adult fiction.I dont know whether i should cut out the kiddie books.

As a teacher (and very nearly a reading specialist...sigh), I want to tell you to go for it. As long as you are balancing your reading habits (reading across a variety of genres) you should feel completely comfortable reading what you enjoy. This summer, I read the books from the Twilight Saga a number of times, but I also read Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great and The Liberation of Gabriel King (both upper elementary level books), several informational books (mostly on reading assessment and instruction), and a couple classics. The fact that I enjoy reading children's books doesn't make me less of a mature reader (okay, it is also my job...), just a more rounded one!

Thanks, it was just one of my friends the same age as me was telling me a long list of all the books she had read and compared to the stuff i have been reading i just felt like a bit of an idiot. Dont get me wrong i love all books but i have a soft spot for the young adult books, i just thought maybe i needed to grow out of that. I will try to balance out me reading more though instead.

Yesterday I FINALLY bought "An Abundance of Katherines" by John Green. I also finished it yesterday. I came home from a party early just to read it; that's the simple way of putting it. It was amazing and even better than John's first book "Looking for Alaska".

OMG i love his autobiography..i would go from one minuite laughing to another being so shocked and sad. It really upset me how he was joking about some really serious things that had happened to him. I love him though

Pride And Prejudice - Jane Austen...But I'll soon be moving on to another Austen novel. I have a humongo book of her novels.

I just finished Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns. For all you women out there, this is a great read. I find myself really appreciating my life and liberties much more. His book the Kite Runner is also fabulous.

Sherrilyn Kenyon's Phantom in the Night is fabulous.

I'm also really liking James Patterson right now.

I just finished Diane Chamberlain's Before the Storm too. That was a great read.
